Call of Duty: Black Ops. Any good?

I’ve been thinking about maybe getting this title but I’m still on the fence about it. Any info/recommendations for it?

I’d get it if I were you. This is so much better than Modern Warfare 2 and just plays a whole lot smoother. It seems the guns are way more balanced now as well. Not only that but whenever I get killed I don’t feel like I was cheated because the shots are actually hitting and stuff. I sold MW2 for this and am pretty glad I did.

If you want multiplayer then this is probably your thing.

If you want single-player, then stay as far away as possible. Treyarch have once again proven to me how incompetent they are.

That’s what I’ve had some people tell me Smarty, the MP in this is apparently quite good… but for single player, pass.

The spawn points are pretty shitty on a few maps right now though.

I haven’t played the game myself, so I can’t really tell if what written in the article is somewhat true or just poor excuses from unsatisfied customers.

I can vouch for the "game looks ugly" part. And the "too linear" part. And the "sucks" part.

There was a patch the other day that fixed the issue of not being able to join a friend’s game. It also apparently increased performance, but I don’t know how much. That’s the only patch released so far – you can probably find it information on it through google.

I personally love it. The campaign mode isn’t the best of the series but is still pretty epic. The zombie mode is pretty good also, but the multiplayer is just fantastic. The guns are all pretty balanced. I say get it.

My only complaint about this game is zombies. Compared to all the zombie maps WaW had, the two that came with the game are fucking hard! You can’t really just find an area to hold down really so you’re constantly moving from area to area. Plus the addition of a different kind of zombie doesn’t help much either. I still like it because….well….it’s fucking ZOMBIES but that’s it. I’d also like to say that my statement about the weapons being balanced was kinda off. After you purchase all of the assault rifle guns, you are able to buy the "classified" assault rifle; the G11. Now THAT gun is sweet. It’s not like it’s so powerful that no other gun will get the job done, but if you want the quick kills then this is it. It’s horribly accurate and hardly has any recoil. Takes about two shots to kill someone (sometimes just one and occasionally three) and it fires quick too. I noticed that most of the firefights I get in with the G11 I end up winning I think because of the fire rate of the G11.

Once you get it, it’s hard to prestige afterwards because it’s a really good weapon but you get it about four levels before you’re able to prestige.

Single player can dissapoint i think, feels way too short, however the multiplayer is just as addictive as ever… once again i fell for the multiplayer, totally has me hooked right now! It depends what you look for more in a game i guess.

Obviously this thread was from 5 years ago, but yes, it’s the Best game ever! you can’t even buy any new copies in Gamestop or EB games in 2016.

I would rather play that that than the new cods, except for BO2
