Zodiac Spear in Henne Mines glitch loophole!

So this is news to me, but apparently there is a way to manipulate the PS2’s random number generator to basically guarantee you a Zodiac Spear in that evil 1/1000 chest.

Not sure how old this news is, but I’m certain that two years ago it was unknown, as it wasn’t all over Youtube like it is now. But the reason I’m posting this is to ask, has anyone here tried this trick? I’m about to… soon. I don’t doubt it’s legit, after all the video evidence, and have a general idea of how to do it, but just wondering if anyone here has done it?

I reckon this is similar to the FFX time-trick to get the 99 Warp Spheres.

But anyway this is awesome news to me. I am so doing a "earliest everything" game soon and applying this trick. Raid the Cerobi Steppe!

This isn’t news to me. It’s easy to do it anyway. I think it’s called RNB or something. I got Zodiac Escutheon in the Barheim Passage in 30 minutes or something. It’s a bit weird, but it definitely works. And that was like years ago :p

Well it definitely wasn’t all over youtube "years ago". Maybe A YEAR ago, but not YEARS ago.

I just started a new game a few days ago because of the whole earliest Tournesol question in the FF XII Trivia thread. 🙂 Anyway, I was looking up guides (I love to read the things) and rediscovered this:

That’s the guide on how the RNG method works. His link to his original guide is in this one, too. I personally haven’t tried it because I don’t feel like sitting there hitting myself 80-some-odd times just to get the correct pattern.

there’s a glitch in henne mines that gives zodiac spear? O.O i just knew…

I want to try this but my ps2 sucks and wont work! @_@

If I were still actively playing the game, it might be fun to mess around with. I’m not sure it’s really all that worth it, though. Sure, the Zodiac Spear is great, but you really only need one.
