It looks like they saved the best til last, judging by that handful of tracks that turned up on Youtube.

Epilogue (A New Journey) sums up everything I love about Senju in three minutes. That theme, that was filled with menace, melancholy, foreboding, and gothic grandeur… is now a warm, romantic symphony… and what a finish! How often to anime composers get to write a proper, big finale for orchestra?

Amestris Military March… perhaps Senju’s most rousing melody yet, if you don’t count the theme from Furinkazan…! A noble men’s chorus sing a song of victory with a lovely stiff-upper-lipped orchestral accompaniment… This theme makes me think of Takayuki Hattori, for some reason…

Lovely stuff, absolutely lovely.

Cannot WAIT for this. Actually, what I really can’t wait for is to get all three CDs in my hands and play them back to back!

So this will wrap up the 2nd anime soundtrack huh? I’ve been liking what I’ve been listening to on the first two OSTs but I just wish Oshima could have done the 2nd soundtrack or at least collaborated with Senju…I miss the foreboding and at the same time enchanting Dante’s theme lemotif.
