Personally I’m interested to see what Sony and Nintendo have to offer.
Sony and Nintendo are main event, so I’ll watch those.
And crossing my fingers that The Last Guardian will get a date this year. 🙂
Medal of Honor my brothers might be interested in it, they do own the other ones on PS2, GC.
Nintendo may not be a powerhouse system or even considered a true "gamer’s" system anymore, but it was coming up with this idea first is what has made them great in the video game market. I seriously wonder if Sony or Microsoft will be able to improve on the technology before Nintendo does.
Metal Gear Solid Rising isn’t about stealth….. ’nuff said.
I’m gutted about the exclusivity of Map Packs and Add-ons for Call of Duty for the next three years to be fair.
Gears of War and Halo have been rehashed, they showed nothing new at all. If someone told me they were showing Gears 2 and not Gears 3 I would have believed them.
However the reveal of their new 360 was a win. Shipping it today! That scored some points. Then they cheated and tried to buy the audience… weak.
A dissapointment. I hope Nintendo and Sony do better, they can’t do much worse.
Star Wars The Old Republic
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
Front Mission Evolved
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days
Rather surprised to see a Splatterhouse remake, as I liked the original on the Megadrive, this has my interest.
One title I saw on that page though did make me cringe:
Star Wars The Force Unleashed II
From what I’ve seen of it, I seriously have to question GL’s intention with the SW franchise.
I’ll post more later when I have more time.
Don’t much care about the other consoles either. Hopefully the developer panels cheer me up
It’s not like I’m going to be upset that a spinoff of a series doesn’t play like the games in the main series, especially when the game could potentially be really fun.
The only thing that seems like it might be a real improvement over the Wii is with that Exercise game by Ubisoft. Seems like that kind of game might actually work better with that tech.
Other than that, nothing was announced there that we didn’t already know about.
Gear of War 3 (more of the same, but HEY! there’s a female character this time around!!! _)
Fable 3… great, no real gameplay demonstration or any kind of elaboration on the things we should expect for it. Plus, their damn graphics engine seems like it didn’t even get any improvement… Game will most likely be fun anyway, but not really hyped for it at this point.
Halo: Reach ? … (that’s more than enough words written about it)
Oh, there was that Crytek exclusive that we didn’t see a thing about it. Great. Plenty of blood. Soooo hyped… _
No real surprises. And over-abundance of copycat versions of 2-3 years old games that Nintendo already sold to all the casual gamers that cared… And a stupid stunt at the end to make sure they’d get good press.
All in all, I think even Nintendo’s 2008 conference was better than that.
Also, crap load of FPS’s. :/
It’s not like I’m going to be upset that a spinoff of a series doesn’t play like the games in the main series, especially when the game could potentially be really fun.
^This.
Also the highlights for me were Gears of War 3, Peter Molyneux’s accent and the Crytek exclusive.
The downer was the whole Kinect event and the absolute bottom of the barrel for me was the fitness game from Ubisoft… I mean seriously what the hell are they thinking?!
WANT!
*dies*
WANT!
Seriously?
Are they going back to the roots of the series?
Are they going back to the roots of the series?
See for yourself 😀

Gabe announcing Portal 2 will be on the PS3.
Twisted Metal looks fun, I did like Black.
That Sorcery games looks alright.
Classy :coolegg:
– Zelda Skyward Sword
– Donkey Kong Country Returns (by Retro Studio, no less!!!)
– Metroid Other M releasing on August 31
– Kirby Epic Yarn looks adorably fun
– The 3DS (very nice, from the hands on I’ve read)
– Kid Ikarus finally returns!!! (on 3DS)
Not THAT many games that I care about, but those on the list are really stealing the show. Especially Kid Ikarus and Donkey Kong Country Returns.
Sony comes second. Mostly because unlike Microsoft, they actually showed some new games and made some announcements concerning games I care about (i.e. not casual centered).
– inFamous 2 (The first one was lacking in diversity, yet I found its gameplay addictive and really fun. They’re addressing all of the first game’s shortcomings so it can only get better… if you’re like me and don’t care about the superficial changes they did to Cole.)
– Gran Turismo 5 finally coming out on November 2
– Twisted Metal (Finally… And… I got a Twisted Metal 2 vibe out of what I’ve seen, which is highly welcome! :D)
– Pricing of the Move hardware is reasonable. And it releases on September 19 in NA. Now let’s just hope we’ll get some good games for it that are not overly simplified versions of Star Wars games.
– Kevin Butler delivered the best damn speech in E3 history. Pure Win.
– Very impressed by the versatility of Little Big Planet 2.
– PlayStation + seems like a nice deal, IF they do release stuff for it regularly enough. And indeed, the fact it doesn’t intrudes into what PSN already offers, players can choose to go for more or stay with what is already a very nice bargain (free) for the features it offers compared to the competition. I think the PS+ service will grow over time. But if you’re a regular qore subscriber, PS+ is a better deal I think.
– Lots of exclusive third party games content. Seems like Microsoft didn’t try to delve deep in their pockets this year.
That’s about it. Good stuff. Mostly satisfying stuff with a few greater exceptions like GT5 release date and Twisted Metal. But no big surprises.
I take points off their conference for completely forgetting The Last Guardian and for the fact that Twisted Metal was basically their only real surprise. Most of the rest we already knew was coming or are for kids and/or "casual" gamers.
Nintendo just brought a lot more nice surprises and stuff that we were not aware off weeks before the actual show.
And Microsoft just didn’t bring anything on the table that I really care about.
Ever since 2008 when Nintendo basically said "screw you" to all their fans, I had lost all faith in them…………. But now………… I love them once again. With everything they’ve shown this year, I will definitely have no hesitations about buying a Wii.
I watched the Kid Icarus trailer, and I almost cried when Pit looked at the camera and said "Sorry to keep you waiting!"
No Zeke in the trailer? SHAME ON YOU!

Yeah, better here than my lonely little thread, mir?
It’s reviving a series that has been dormant for over 2 decades(?), so it’s not like there would be much of a reason to make it at this point. But they needed something new to show off the 3DS, Star Fox is already coming out on the system with a remake of the N64 game, people have been asking for a new Kid Icarus game for a long time and Pit has wings so…bam! Kid Icarus 3D flying adventure.
I’ve always viewed the original Kid Icarus game as some-what surreal in style, much like the original Metroid, both of which were created by the same person. This new version, however, is awfuly cute and bright.
Edit: Oh crap! I just read about Paper Mario for the 3DS! Now I’m excited!
Link! (http://kotaku.com/5564462/paper-mario-brings-2d-to-the-3ds)
Yeah, the image art for the series was always cute. But the original was an NES game, so regardless of what the artists had in mind you were going to end up with a tiny sprite hopping around sparsely colored tiles in front of an often pitch black background.

I’m buying it for my 360 hehehehe.
Most epic E3 speech in history: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCJwQQj9Eao
The guy deserved a frikin’ standing ovation. _
We all serve one master, one KING and his name is……SONY, FOREVER MAY HE REIGN!
Ah, I do so love being a fanboy~
I don’t know if Jerry Lambert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Butler_%28character%29) writes his own material. I think it’s doubtful, knowing how publicity works. But it’s not impossible that he shares his own input into the mix.
One thing is sure though, he really nails how to deliver it.
But don’t you already OWN those games on other platforms? I mean why remake Ocarina of Time when it’s already on N64, has a Master Quest remake, on 2 different gamecube discs, and is on the virtual console?
As for Sky Sword the Twilight in Wind Waker style makes it look like a cheap shriek knock off. It’s an early trailer so any major game mechanics as well as characters and story won’t be too prevalent but I think that wrist rocket and staff whip look like they could be really fun.

"Oh, wait. We have Kinectimals. It’s a virtual pet simulator. Microsoft demonstrated it by having a young Asian girl take the stage and air-pet her virtual tiger."
lol
They made it look lkinda like the alienwere towers.
MGS3 Snake Eater, moving – anonymous video donor.
Looks amazing, simply beautiful…I just want this piece of kit SO much! D:
With unresponsive sword controls!!!! HOURRAY!!!!
I played TP on cube so don’t know if it was any good waving about.
I have one of the Gamecube releases of Ocarina, but I never have my Gamecube hooked up really so it doesn’t get played much these days. I just like the convenience of having stuff on handheld systems!
And I don’t own Streetfighter IV 🙁
All the people who tried it out it later in the booths said it was just fine. And I’ve seen videos. It’s fine.
x2
And I don’t own Streetfighter IV 🙁
oh, I thought you had mentioned Street Fighter 4 at some point but it might have been TK. I get to two mixed up sometimes.
I still don’t like how Nintendo is all DS than one year later Smaller DS that works and looks better in more colors, than a few years after that a bigger DS than 1 year later a brand new upgraded DS. The could have just made it bigger form the start and implement all the upgrades of the Light from the get go.
Many (most) people said that it played well enough, but didn’t register some movements when they’d waved faster in the heat of battle.
Also booth babes.
I knew I could count on you Phil <3 DEFRANCO NATION REPRESENT.
=D
/hugs TM and Neg
looooooooooooove this
also the world needs less 3D and more games that look like Odin Sphere ; ;
/hugs TM and Neg
8? What the heck happened to 6 and 7?
I hope SH8 has a Dog Ending.
lol. I read on that page that they may be counting Silent Hill Origins as 5, Silent Hill Homecoming as 6, and Shattered Memories as 7…
I guess that makes sense…
It’s still one-to-one even though you can’t wave around like a retard. Is it really that big a deal you can’t fight like that, though? Thrashing around to win has plagued the Wii since forever, so I’m glad they’ve limited the sword to semi-realistic… limitations.
But yeah, I’ve only heard praise for the controls from people that have had hands-on experience with the game. It’s not like Nintendo are known for releasing unpolished games anyway.
I’m with ya on that, but anyone saying Sony over Nintendo stuff this week is going to get a hug from me. Cuz like fanboy mode ENGAGED.
It’s pretty much a fact that Sony just catered to their fanboys at E3 this year. And by that I mean, they didn’t really show anything interesting but they didn’t have to – they knew their retarded followers would eat it up anyway.
2
3
4
Homecoming
Zero/Origins
Shattered Memories
8
Maybe the 2 remake will be 7? Or was that footage from 8? Maybe we’re just gonna be the Voltron of gaming 😀
Nothing wrong with catering to awesome fans 🙂
I’ve got a huge spread sheet and everything.
Everyone’s complaining in the comments. Same as with Infamous 2. People just like to bitch about everything ;;
Apologetics much, eh? ^^,
But I do agree with the other part. Nintendo has an extremely good track record when it comes to controls. So I’m still open.
But 1:1 controls that don’t register all your movements is not 1:1. ^_-
In all the videos I’ve watched, Link would do some random moves when the player would do something different. It didn’t happened that much, but it DID happen. Considering Nintendo’s core games always have stellar controls with flawless responsiveness, I can’t help but be worried that this control scheme might end up being a step back. At least with the limited tech inside the Wii-motion + (at least for the prevalent sword play that is core to the series. The other accessories can only be more enjoyable with it, especially the Whip and Bow.).
Not really. I think I’m being more realistic/not pessimistic than apologetic here.
Swinging around like a retard is physically impossible with a big sword and also pretty much useless in a battle. Those guys were doing it wrong anyway.
But 1:1 controls that don’t register all your movements is not 1:1. ^_-
If the game can translate every attacking motion you do to the screen perfectly – it’s 1:1. I really don’t see how the game stopping you from swinging the sword all over the place makes it not-1:1. OBNOXIOUS SMILEY FACE

I’ve watched 4 videos or so and I’ve never seen this happen. It’s possible there’s disturbance or it’s possible the controls need ironing out. I don’t know! A glitch occurring at a public demo roughly year before release isn’t unheard of, though. You can’t really say the controls are (going to be) trash because of a few hiccups now.
The controls look great in every demo I’ve seen and I’ve yet to find a bad word spoken about them.

You haven’t seen anything wrong with it, but I did. You didn’t watch the videos that I did, obviously, or just didn’t pay attention.
The fact that you try to make me say things that I didn’t (that the controls are, or are going to be trash) is proof enough to me that discussing this with you is pointless. You’re sold already, I’m waiting to experience it first hand before passing final judgment.
I’m not being pessimistic either. As I already made clear, I expect flawless, stellar controls from a game like Zelda, as I’ve been used to those for years now. If the controls aren’t top notch, then as I said, it’s to the detriment of the product, compared to what came before. I expect great things from a Zelda game as I’ve been a fan of every game in the series since the very first game (that includes Zelda II, btw) and all of them had perfect controls (except maybe for the 2 N64 outings, but that’s mostly due to the fact I never liked the N64 controller).
So yeah, call me pessimistic because I voice my worries about a game we haven’t played yet instead of praising it blindly. *sigh*
No, I haven’t seen the videos you’ve seen or read the reviews you’ve read. Still, I’ve only seen people saying the motion control works really well. Given the different experiences people have had with the game, it seems possible to me that any errors people are having stem from it being an open demo with a fair bit of disturbance. It’s also possible there are glitches in the mechanics, but I’m pretty confident that they’ll be patched up with another year of development time. Either way, Nintendo demonstrated that they’ve got 1:1 motion control working well with Link’s swordplay (for the most part, if you like). This has a fair bit of people excited because of the depth this can add to boss fights/puzzles/whatever.
The fact that you try to make me say things that I didn’t (that the controls are, or are going to be trash) is proof enough to me that discussing this with you is pointless.
You never said the controls are bad?
Well…
With unresponsive sword controls!!!! HOURRAY!!!!
You then went on to suggest the game doesn’t have 1:1 motion control because you can’t wave a sword around like a spastic.
Many (most) people said that it played well enough, but didn’t register some movements when they’d waved faster in the heat of battle.
…
Yeah, non one to one sword control for the win! _
You were definitely saying the controls aren’t good and it doesn’t really look like you were optimistic about the end result…
and you should be. I mean, you even said it yourself,
Nintendo has an extremely good track record when it comes to controls.
…
Considering Nintendo’s core games always have stellar controls with flawless responsiveness,
but then went on to say something that completely disregards everything you’ve just said
I can’t help but be worried that this control scheme might end up being a step back.
which suggests you’re being pretty pessimistic about things.
You’re sold already, I’m waiting to experience it first hand before passing final judgment.
If you say so!
So yeah, call me pessimistic because I voice my worries about a game we haven’t played yet instead of praising it blindly. *sigh*
I think you should probably read what I’ve said it again. I’ve said that the game disabling spastic thrashes does not mean the motion control isn’t 1:1. I’ve said that any glitches there are in the game are very, very likely to be wiped out before release given Nintendo’s track record. That’s about it.
*sigh*
Wow, it looks cartoony. That’s an unexpected change.
The game is really pretty.
A lot of people seem to be upset about the design of the monsters, but I think they look pretty great 😡
You know……….. if Snuffy had a 3d adventure game…….. I would play it…..
3 player co-op mode, p1 the trunk, p2 the front legs, & p3 the hind quarters.
Also Morgan Webb is looking rather delicious. For a while when G4 took over they had her in make up and clothes that didn’t make her look to good and I was afraid she was sick or had work done but it looks like she’s gotten them to balance her look between glam and the girl next door from tech tv.
She’s like 30 something now and is married to a guy that from the look of him, I neither love nor hate.
HOOOOOOOOOOOOLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
i am SO getting one.
Are you guys seeing actual gameplay with it? Link please?
’cause it’s a beautiful looking piece of footage! 😀
although i still need to get a 2000, for the collection.
*now patiently waits for a sony copycat of the 3ds*
Resident Evil Revelations…and hell, I’d like to see an Ace Attorney on the system! Investigation Phases – in 3D?!?!
YES FUCKING PLEASE! =D
Sackboy… exactly HOW do you look at your handhelds’ screens, exactly? _
it’s apparently not even an annoyance, merely something that you get used to quickly!
In NO single hands-on report is it stated that the 3D fails comfort-wise because of the way it works…so you can already dismiss that notion.
All we can do now is wait and demo a console ourselves when they decide to do so!
3DS looks epic.
The analog stick looks really great too. The PSP’s little nub isn’t all that good.
*Spoiler* It does! :3 *Spoiler*
Ugh, tell me about. I tried playing a little Crisis Core and a Phantasy Star game on one of bf’s psps once, and that stick was just so weird to move. 🙁 They should have some kind of attachment for it to make it an actual joystick.
AH! The paint looks so beautiful! :swoon:

I would love to see a special edition Zelda one, I would totally buy it. Not that I’m ever going to get rid of my Zelda ds <3
POKEMON ON THE 3DS
Day one purchase… with Kid Ikarus. 😀
The GBA’s been dead for years – if you want to play the games, find a cheap GBA/Micro GBA and play it that way, ’cause Nintendo moved on a LOOOONG time ago. It’s time people realised that and moved on too! 😛
Believe me. I know.
Should I be ashamed?
Either way, I think I’ve just about lost interest in Pokemon games now. Except for Crystal, since it’s awesome.
With Black+White going with a more 3d look with the settings, Id say it will look fantastic on the 3ds.
Here’s pics of what B+W.

Believe me. I know.
Should I be ashamed?
No need to get all misty eyed over it Misu.
No, I’m usually overjoyed about it :p
Believe me. I know.
Should I be ashamed?
Get a PSP.
Hack It.
Emulate GBA.
Tah-DAH!
Eh? Why would I do that when my Zelda ds has a gba slot?
Also I noticed in the trailer for Kid Icarus that it didn’t use synthesized sound. Do you think that the 3DS won’t use cartridges? Or if it does, they’ll have huge ammounts of storage capacity?
Because the emulator is better than the original system.
I can play a plethora of games w/o worrying about ruining my original games and use features like Gamestates and fast-forwarding though bullshit.
Also I noticed in the trailer for Kid Icarus that it didn’t use synthesized sound. Do you think that the 3DS won’t use cartridges? Or if it does, they’ll have huge ammounts of storage capacity?
They’re using carts that are slightly (physically) bigger than the DS ones. For starters, the maximum storage capacity will be 2GB.
Yeah I really didn’t expect Nintendo to not use cartridges on a portable system :p Still 2GB is pretty huge for a cartridge and will give developers a lot of room to work with which is good. The UMD on the PSP has 2 GB of storage capacity. If Nintendo managed 2 GB in a cartridge how much room will Sony’s successor to the PSP have? o.O
Also I noticed in the trailer for Kid Icarus that it didn’t use synthesized sound. QUOTE]
Non synth you say? It’s about time Nintendo gets their music and dialogue on pare with everyone else. Was I the only one who became very happy then very disappointed when they first started up Twilight Princess and was greeted with what at first sounded like real music than became all to obvious synthesized?

Yay, Epona. 🙂
Looks like the model they used for Soul Calibur 2.
I can only count on Spoony to take care of me. I KNOW THIS NOW.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMLw9t78Z1E
Screw all you people, I’m buying it! Industry-backed!
I mean, shit, I own Blow Dry. Alan Rickman is the greatest hair stylist EVAR!
So I see these trailers for the Unleashed and Kotor MMORPG games and have to say why don’t they just stop it already with the prequel era stuff? There’s only 2 things that can possibly come form it either the stories are predictable, boring, and mundane or they contradict and ignore the already established stories, characters, & Plot points. As Vader’s apprentice you just can’t defeat Vader.
As for KOTOR MMO why is it set with the sith taking over with an empire and the jedi almost wiped out again? There must be new stories to tell in star wars so why are we always gong over the same things over and over again?
nintendo has seem pretty dedicated for quite some time to not releasing things at absurd prices. the handhelds even moreso than the consoles.
it’s a business model that’s been working really really fucking well for them, so there’s no reason they’d change it.
they don’t go with state of the art hardware and with good reason, at some point the gains relative to the price increase just isn’t worth it.
2gb storage media really isn’t that big. 2gb microsd cards have been available for almost 5 years now, if you want to go with regular sd as a comparison, even much longer.
tl;dr version: first hunch is 199. there’s no way in fuck it’d be over 299.
That way even top level PS2 games can get on the system.
^_^

Yay, Epona. 🙂
WANT. EXTREME WANTAGE!
As long as they don’t change anything. Maybe add some bonus end content, but nothing more.
Ow! Ow! It burns.
