Just to re-iterate for people who aren’t enthralled by FSITO’s explanation:
Wolfire Games offers a package of several indie games (including World of Goo) for a "pay what you want"-price. Cross-platform and DRM-free.
The donations go to Child’s Play Charity (http://www.childsplaycharity.org/) and/or Electric Frontier Foundation (http://www.eff.org/) (you can decide on your own where it goes exactly).

Developers are going to release the source code for their games if they reach $1 million.
Also all that information could have been found if they opened the link. This thread was just ignored because I posted it vOv
