Love epic Vocal themes in 1C-1E Very Epic so Psyched for the game O.O

Thanks a bunch, I sure hope this game is better than FFXI. I’m also happy that Uematsu is back in full force (meaning he composed the entire soundtrack, as opposed to a few tracks) for this one.

Really can’t believe what I hear. Mess, horrible samples, more mess. Couldn’t stand even 20 minutes of this. What happened to Uematsu?

If you don’t like the beginning, listen on, it gets better and better. I’m only half way through it now but I love the battle themes from 08 to 18 already.

Hahaha, I made my first reply before downloading, and I have been listening to this at work today. My reaction was similar to yours, herbaciak, but i can stand a couple of tracks from the album. I was hoping for something with more character like ff7 or 8, but no! Uematsu is going downhill, for sure.

BUT does anyone else hear Susan Calloway from Distant Worlds singing 1D?

I heard she was one of Uematsu’s favorite singers, and now I believe it XD She does have an amazing voice, but unfortunately I don’t think this song is quite up to par with Distant Worlds. I will hopefully change my mind after playing the game.

Yea it’s her… Also I am glad that Uematsu is going the rock route. Advent Children when that route add major of 7 sides games have. Along FFX with otherworld. Music so far is a balance of Rock with classic music which honestly awesome because Uematsu is of a few can balance it out perfectly… Glad to see some more Black Mages in this series.

As for Uematsu… whatever happened? Not that this stuff is bad, but at one time people were saying he might be the next John Williams; some of his earlier FF themes were absolutely ravishing. In comparison, this all sounds a bit sleepy to me.

You could say that the change in the quality of his work is proportionately reflective of the change in the quality of each successive game, and you’d have a point. Although that is probably a discussion for another forum.

I’m liking the soundtrack.

So…1D/1E is the game’s vocal theme, 1C is the Prelude, 40 is the Chocobo track, and 46 is the classic Final Fantasy theme. Nice to see the Prelude and FF theme return after an unexplained absence from XIII. Still no classic Victory fanfare. I really enjoyed the vocal theme, though.

Wait, there was a classic Victory fanfare. I can’t remember the number off the top of my head but there was one.

EDIT: OK, it was 4F. A remix yes, but I do believe that was the Victory fanfare.
