came back to check, whether my account had been deleted. Instead I discover replies insulting me:

The explanation of my request is simple… Some people try to keep a "manageable amount" of accounts in the Internet. Maybe it’s just some kind of compulsion neurosis, I don’t know.

But usually the admins respect your wishes and delete your account.

I don’t know which country you’re from. But where I come from it’s one of the essential rights of a person to decide which communities he or she wants to be part of, respectively the right to leave the communities he or she doesn’t want to be part of any loner.

What I don’t get: people who ask nicely are mistreated and insulted. Didn’t you ever think of the possibility that those people who aren’t interested in maintaining their accounts could – after being treated like criminals – start to act so and try to damage this forum? After all: that way they’d possibly get, what they originally asked for nicely.

Anyway, I’ll (nicely) ask again:
I would like you to delete my account.

It’s the policy of the admins not to delete accounts. If you decide to log out and not return, that’s okay. You won’t have to maintain your account in any way or even remember that you ever had it. It’ll simply go unused from now on.

As you can tell from the responses, this question is asked fairly regularly and the answer is always "just log out." The admins understand you don’t want to have the account listed anymore, but their position is that it does no harm to leave it active. If you decide to ever return, that means you won’t have to register again. If you don’t return, no burden on the site or on you will come from the unused account.

P.S. I’m not an admin, but as I said above, this question is asked so frequently that I’m familiar with the typical response.

Just sick and tired of idiot noobs who join the site, just to download VGM or other music, don’t contribute to the forum in general, and then want their account deleted in the hope of not being possibly punished for downloading said VGM and/or other music.

I think that you should have the option to delete your account if you wish, though that’s pretty whatever and not why I’m replying. Just want to say that anyone being offensive and 1337 in response to a perfectly pleasant and polite request, you’re obviously cool!
