1.) What did you think of the cinematic/story ending? I really liked the way they defied fate and cut their own destiny, denying the Fal’Cie and their Cie’th ending! But what about Fang and Vanille? They were crystal in the core of the new frozen/crystal mass they rode to support and save Cocoon. I think they turned to crystal as they completed their true focus (fighting for what they believe in to the end) just like Cid did when he denied his focus but still turned to crystal.
2.) What did you think of the bosses? (like there really ever is just one last boss, right?)
I thought the first Barthandelus was relatively easy, which I think Square intended. When he fused with Orphan I thought it was really tough, especially that Merciless Judgement (just like Sephiroth’s Heartless Angel) attack and the other one that instantly kills a character (Vile something?). But overall I had less difficulty with him than I did with The Proudclad (fight 1) and Barthandelus (fight 2 in Gran Pulse). I think it’s because I hadn’t completely mastered the game system by then, and by the end I had however. Overall I was totally satisfied with the boss and the ending .
But anyways… let me hear your thoughts!
If it’s as popular as 10 was possibly, but I wouldn’t have thought so with FF14 coming out at the end of the year!
I could just be slightly retarded.

Hmm, what part didn’t you understand? I can explain it to you if you like?
Considering that A: Not much is known about FFXIV at the moment and B: SE only started Beta Testing registration, I doubt it’ll be out by the end of the year. Also FFX may’ve been documented as being popular at it’s release, doesn’t take into account all the copies returned to the stores they were purchased from not long afterwards.
Someone’s awfully emo.
I agree. Barthandalus (sp?) at Oerba was seriously the hardest boss in the game.
Then again, right after Oerba, I went back to Archelyte Steppe (or however you spell it) and CP farmed on the Behemoth King and the giant wolf thing (Megi-something. The names in this game are ridiculous).
Either way, the ending was ok. It was kind of expected that the six were going to "defy fate" as it were… I just didn’t expect Vanille and Fang to turn into Ragnarok to save the world. That was kinda creative. The rest with Dajh and Serah coming back was a bit too corny for my tastes.
Really? It’s Final Fantasy, what do you expect? Really.. lol. I think Snow made me cringe more than any of that in the game with all his speeches and "i’m-such-a-fucking-awesome-hero" lectures.
No, the ending just isn’t worth the gameplay. Almost like playing FF9 just to phoenix-down Necron for an OTK
Can someone please tell me how fang and vanille randomly save cocoon? I wouldn’t be surprised if I missed something critical about those two characters because they were explained pretty terribly…
Honestly I was okay with the story in the first few chapters (thinking they might clarify somethings) but then there are just too many holes… the only explanation they have the whole time is crap like destiny or focus, blah blah I had this dream…
Don’t get me wrong I’m all for a happy ending and I really was glad that Serah and dajh came back or whatever (however the hell that works) but it seemed really strange to me.

Barthandelus gives Fang and Vanille the task of destroying cocoon, and they refuse him twice.
Having not read the strat guide or online FAQ’s….I get the feeling like I missed a whole lot of the areas in FFXIII. Furthur, I went from Mission 28, skipped all the way to 53-61… WTF was in between?? I never found any chocobos, or figured out how to use the green rings.
Ending was in the usual FF cheesy fashion although I have to say best final boss music in my opinion.
Even stevens.
Can’t complain 🙂
You’d think. I just need to grind the last million cp.
That’s painful… When you were grinding, did you ever use the summons just for fun? Because I do that =P .
When I start my new file, I guess I’ll use Light, Fang, and Hope for the main game. Switch back to my real team for post-game.
All the bloody time!

Oh my god. My teams are the exact opposite.
I have used Fang, Lightning, and Hope for most of the game. After Hope gets Haste, you really don’t need Sazh; and he’s a healer, so you don’t need Vanille.
That’s one of the things that pissed me off about Hope. Took FOREVER to get Haste. Plus he was casting protect when I needed him to skip directly to EN spells.
Sazh is my main mang.
I really don’t see how Fang, Hope, and Light are this "dream team" for everybody. None of them impress me in anyway.

Its just personal coice. I think Sazh, Hope and Vannile is optimal, as I just like to stagger things quickly.
