Something with chat

Now it could just be me or something, but when using that mibbit link to go to chat, sometimes, it will bring me back to the first page where you put in a name with Terminated in red underneath. And when I try logging back on, I get this error message in red: Closing link: ([email protected]) [G-Lined: Excessive clones].

Any help? I don’t want to be bored at work :sad:…

Rikai (sp?) I think fixed it because it’s working now. He seemed surprised that it happened before and I just didn’t say anything XD!

Rikai turned it off, while I was there. Sarah might have done something to fix it, or Rikai ended up doing it, or maybe the fix itself hasn’t been done yet and it’s just turned off, still.

Yeah, the cloning issue isn’t fixed yet. Its actually a mibbit issue that i’m working out with them and wont be encountered if you use an actual IRC client. I’ve currently disabled automated banning for excessive clones in the meantime, so you shouldn’t be running into that issue any more.

As for the ‘connection failed’ issue… I’m currently raging at the provider i pay for the server from, as apparently the whole data center where the server is hosted dropped off the face of the planet (routing issues?). I’m working to get this resolved as quickly as i can, but there’s really nothing more I can do until they get it fixed.

Needless to say, i’m probably going to be trying to find a way to move to a better host, as this isn’t the first time i’ve had issues with the current one and i’ve found a much better option.

In the meantime, if you’ve got an IRC client, you can pop into #cleverpun on irc. esper. net and get updates on the issue, though hopefully this will be resolved by the morning, at the latest.

Also, if there are any issues related to the chat that don’t have to do with the actual chat applet or this particular cha downtime, yell them my way. I can only fix what i know about! 😛

Updated the post with a bit more information. And its no biggie, just figured i’d keep you guys informed so you wouldn’t think i spilled something on something and was too lazy to fix it. 😛

Just another update to say that there’s absolutely no update. I’m seriously dissatisfied with the customer service of this company… It’s likely that the provider will be switched in the near future…

I’ve got some ideas, and i’ll let you guys know plans as they progress. But at the moment, i’m at the whims of the current host.
