Norio Hanzawa – Gunstar Heroes (Vertiphon 2010 Remaster) (http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5393285)
I hope this is the right place to post this… apologies that this isn’t a direct download, but you can find a torrent for my unofficial remaster of the soundtrack to Treasure’s Sega Genesis ubergame "Gunstar Heroes", right here (http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5393285).
Here is a sample MP3 (http://www.sendspace.com/file/a9bxop) if you’d like to hear for yourself what this is like.
It’s 24-bit FLACs and 650MB so I’m not really inclined to split it over megaupload. You are all welcome to try and do this yourselves if you like.
This is not the Arrange CD, the Gunstar Super Heroes CD or MrMonkeyman’s rip. I’m aware that there are lots of Treasure fans out there, and the copies of this soundtrack available are all IMHO pretty poor. As I explain in the link, this is something I did for myself and I’ve taken liberties with the editing and tracklist. It is, however, the WHOLE soundtrack rearranged to be more appropriate as an "album for listening". I hope some of you enjoy this. 🙂

Edit: Scroll down a little further for MegaUpload links, very kindly put up by chdgs. And please check out my remasters of Star Fox (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?p=1451288) and Thunder Force (Thread 74398).
Torrents are not ideal for obscure files of a low demand. I’m not getting any seeds.
The Torrent is 650MB. MegaUpload.com allows up to 1024MB files. No need to purchase a premium account to do so! (You only need a premium account to upload files larger than 1024MB or to download files larger than 1000MB)
If you were to put the folder in a .RAR archive and upload the single file to MegaUpload.com, that would be more ideal for sharing since the file would be hosted on a server instead of a P2P network, where availability depends on people seeding.
Torrents are better for movies, games, and other things that would gain up to 300+ peers. This file, unfortunately, isn’t in a high enough of a demand or popularity to warrant the use of torrents. All Torrents start out slow, that’s something I understand. But it would REALLY help with the distribution of your files– now and in the long run– if you were to use a fileshare website whenever possible, as in this case. MegaUpload is one of your best candidates since it can host larger files for free.
Food for thought: So far each of my alternative download links of your Thunder Force remasters (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showpost.php?p=1441101&postcount=13) have been downloaded more than 20 times. 1.9GB x 20 = 38GB. I’ve essentially distributed 38GB of data after having only personally uploaded 1.9GB. That does not include the MP3 convert I also made available, which has been downloaded 15 times (330MB X 15). (You can manage uploaded files and monitor how many times they’ve been downloaded with a FREE MegaUpload registered account.)
I’ve achieved a share ratio of 20.0+ without my PC even needing to be turned on! Ideally, people should obtain a ratio of at least 1.0 before removing the files from the Torrent manager or stop uploading. But there are the occasional hit-and-run downloaders; and even with a share ratio of 1.0, you’re only passing the files ONCE to someone else. Torrents have a pyramid structure. It relies on 1 person [you] to upload to 5 people to upload to 10 people to upload to 20 people, and so on. And then there’s the case of people with a dozen or so Torrents in their lists: they can only dedicate so much bandwidth per Torrent such that you end up on the waiting list on another waiting list. I’m not necessarily trying to say that fileshares are overall better than Torrents, though it may certainly seem like it.
Unfortunately, having these files available through other means DOES cripple your Torrents, as people prefer to download with the fileshare rather than download AND upload with a Torrent, but MegaUpload is the only fileshare that’s a better, FREE alternative for distribution of files smaller than 1GB than torrents. Most fileshares only allow up to 300MB files without paying, and I can understand why you wouldn’t want to host this without splitting it. But, again, you won’t have to split the file with MegaUpload.
Please take what I’ve said into consideration.
I have a low-power NAS on providing torrents, I don’t care if it has to stay on. But it HAS been on, and if you’re not getting seeds, then there’s little I can do. Check that your torrent software has its ports correctly forwarded.
People here can make MU posts of my releases if they like, I don’t have the time or inclination to. I hate to have wasted your time writing a post like that. So please talk about the music, instead.
I have no right in being picky which method which you choose to distribute. I should be thankful that you are providing anything in the first place.
I apologize if I did anything to offend you or your contribution.

I know it’s rude to ask, but since you’ve already done these, I was curious as to what other osts you were planning on remastering.
Does anybody have it in mp3,though? I wouldn’t ask you guys if I could convert it myself, but for some reason my Goldwave can’t even open the files.
Halp? ;_;
Same with the Starfox one.

Bumping.
I’ve tried every sound editor I could think of to convert these files, but none of the programs can even recognize them.

You clearly haven’t tried hard enough:
foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/)
FLAC frontend (http://members.home.nl/w.speek/flac.htm)
Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)
Songbird – Welcome (http://getsongbird.com/)
Make iTunes Friendly to WMA, OGG, and FLAC Files (http://lifehacker.com/5330553/make-itunes-friendly-to-wma-ogg-and-flac-files)
.. or hell, just try googling (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=flac&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#hl=en&expIds=17259,24999,27586&xhr=t&q=flac+player&cp=7&pf=p&sclient=psy&client=firefox-a&hs=jxx&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&aq=0&aqi=&aql=&oq=flac+pl&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=de610b7113b09eab)?
And while I’m here, a little service update notice: All of my torrents are still being seeded.

Foobar seems to be doing the trick, though. Thank you.

Looking for seeds right now.
I just created an account to come here and say THANK YOU VERTIPHON.
This is quite simply the best thing I could ask for as a gamer, and as the biggest Gunstar Heroes/Treasure fan on the planet.
I dunno how you managed to do this, but gosh darnit, you’ve achieved justice to my ears.
Many thanks, and best wishes.
Thank you
