Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Time was 1 of my first games and is still 1 of my favourite for 2 players.
I’d like to find more co-op games for the SNES, Gamecube, & PS2.
Secret of Mana is technically co-op.
Also, the early Bomberman series was hilarious for multiplayer. I don’t remember if it was co-op exactly, but I remember doing a free for all with my friend and two bots on the hardest difficulty, and we would team up to kill the bots before then turning on ourselves. That was fun stuff…
And I found that co-op on wrestling games for n64 such as WWF No Mercy was surprisingly charming.
More recently, running through the Halo games with a friend on Legendary is pretty fun.
The only one I played co-op :p At least the only one I can remember.
Check out Co-Optimus (http://www.co-optimus.com/index.php) for more Co-Op gaming.
But I would have to say that one tanks game on the Wii. Can’t exactly remember what it’s called. Tiny Tanks? Well, you can piss off your buddy by blowing his tank up, but if you die, then it’s game over for the both of you. But when we decided to work together and see how far we can get, it’s EXTREMELY fun….and intense too when you die and you’re watching your friend trying to kill the other tanks so you guys can move on.
as for me, TMNT 4 is and will always be, the most awesome co-op experience after the Xmen arcade

FFShrine, I am disappoint. Nothing can match the bro-fist moments that game provides. We who played together remember fondly the days that we teamed up to clear an entire room of grunts within a matter of moments, thanks to teamwork. Our arms are bruised with the marks of anger from people shortly after hearing, "Green Elf shot the food!" The arcade halls rang with our laughter as we then blocked the elf’s only exit from the room where Death was closing in…
Another interesting co-op game if you could play it in arcades: Vindicators. O…M…G! The controls were hard as FRICK to get used to(used a type of steering wheel/flight stick, if I remember right), but it was fun! Might be because I played the NES version with my dad a lot, but…
Now, it’s all about the Internet.
The Space ship levels are the best with 1 of you driving and the other as the gunner.
Metal Gear Solid Big Boss rank
EDIT: Diablo I & II are fun to play Co-op too
