NBA Jam comes to Wii

I haven’t heard that title in over 10 years.

Two words.

Fucking. A.

Well…maybe a word and a letter, but you get the drill. I haven’t played a fun sports game in about a decade, so I’m definitely looking forward to this.

One problem, I’ve heard(though this could easily change before release): no online play. If you want multiplayer, it’s gotta be local.

Only downside for this news, as far as I can tell.

Is this exclusive for the Wii or will it be ported to PS3/360?

I hope not :(. I remember playing this game when it was in the arcades and it was LOADS of fun. For me that’s saying a lot because I’m not a fan of sports games at all. And if it comes out for the 360 and PS3, then adding an online multiplayer feature would bring in LOADS of money because I’m sure it would be in high demand then. It might be in high demand if it does come out only for the Wii too, but I have no idea how it fares when it comes to online gaming compared to the 360 and PS3 where it’s pretty big.

Issues of magazines usually have the next month on the newest issues. So it’s not anything new that January’s newest magazine will have February on it.

After trying some Mario Strikers Charged and Smash Brawl online, I can seriously live with that.

omg I remember that with Bill Clinton LOL. NBA Jam really was awesome, as was NFL Blitz. Now I’m too old to really care. But I would like to see one on-fire-flipping-above-the-screen-dunk again. So satisfying those were.

I hope they do a good job with this game, it was one of the very, very few sports games I loved.

About the exclusivity, the cover says "Wii Exclusive" so I’m doubting it will get a release on anything else…

Yeah, and a Wii would not fight with the PS3 over who has the HDMI port, either. My Wii’s happily hooked up to the component connectors while my PS3’s happily hooked up to the HDMI port.

Also a wonderful recommendation. This year is going to be great for the Wii. I wasn’t this excited last year (‘cept for the release of The Conduit), but the great releases are coming, and TvC was just the beginning.

Yeah, you could be petitioning companies to release their downloadable games on systems that haven’t sold as much as their target platform.

Seems to me if it sells just one more on another console… it sold more. Maybe you’d like to argue profitability; but it definitely sells more when it… sells more.
