Hi, got a few FF7 questions :)

i’ve looked in the instruction manual and got no luck, and i tried google.ca but i couldn’t get what i wanted

my questions are:

does my melee damage for example, level up only when my character levels up? or does it get stronger also when i use melee?

because i noticed my lightning/fire/ice/etc materia require leveling up, so i decided to use those spells a lot. then i thought what if i’m neglecting my melee attack power, or STR if it has anything to do with it. know what i mean?

how does my STR, DEX, VIT, etc stats level up? when i level up they go up? (makes sense)

and what about my Magic stat, does that have anything to do with when i use ice/lightning/fire/etc materia?

All your stats will increase as you level. So attacking with physical damage or not doesn’t matter.

Same with materia. But if you manage to do many physical attacks with Tifa, her chest becomes bigger and will become completely nude if she hits level 100 doing nothing but physical attacks.

The specific character stats are automatically improved by levelling up and don’t change by using the "ability" that ties to them, but they can be artificially improved by Materia that grants the user, say, more STR. This also goes for your character’s magic stat.

Your melee damage is dependant on your character’s STR and the weapon he is holding. The higher the attack power of the weapon, the more damage the character deals when using it.

i have to ONLY have her use melee attacks? and if so, once she is lvl 100 can i have her do other things and she’ll stay that way?

Well that was a joke. That was proven false… however there is the hidden FMV in Costa Del Sol between Cloud, Tifa and Aeris…

but i will refine it slightly. you actually have to get tifa to level 99 on the first disc, as that is the only disc which holds the graphic for her naked pixels..

Also you need to make sure that you cure her only with potions. as the cure spell stops the clothes from coming off..

As for ur attributes, if you want to have your people taking off big damage with their weapons then your best shot at this is to morph the "Heavy Tank" which can be found in the gongaga reactor. I believe it is the only monster in that area so it will be easy to get your strength up. You receive morph at the temple of the ancients and it is an attack that cuts your physical strength by 1/8 when used. Unless you have yuffie’s "Conformer". Heavy Tanks have around 1600 HP i believe. The best way i found to morph them without fail early on was to have someone use ???? (an enemy skill which can be obtained in the mansion at nibelheim) when they had say 1500 life taken off them, and keep them around that level of HP. Making it so that you will obtain your power source each battle without fail, not to mention that it is pretty quick to do.

Strength in FF7 however is pretty useless, for you will never take off 9999 purely with high strength combined with a decent weapon (even if your their combined power reaches 255). The only possibly way to take off 9999 without a characters ultimate weapon is to feed them hero drinks even when they are on full stats.

As you go through the game you will nab each players best weapon (if you would like them all then make sure you have barret in your party before you run up the stairs to meet hojo towards the end of the second disc, right after you open the chests where you receive a mystile which is a great armour. Also make sure when you visit midgar at this time in the game that you venture into the shinra building to find HP shout for cait sith. Which is hiding in a locker on floor 60 something)

From memory those are the only two weapons that you may miss.. The ultimate weapons all have special formula’s allocated to them to raise your strength to the point where you will smash the enemy for 9999, and if you could break damage then possibly a whole lot more than that!

No it is true. But because it wasn’t part of the original planning (one of the programmers did it and leaked it), Square doesn’t want people to know it’s in there and has prohibited many gaming sites from talking about it (which is why it’s not on gamefaqs).

Not sure if this place is considered a gaming site so let’s cross our fingers.

It’s somewhat akin to the ‘Hot Coffee’ thing in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. Apparently a Gameshark or Action Replay can unlock it, but SE slammed the sites with the codes with a Cease and Desist Order…

May be available somewhere on one of any other site I guess…

and after she’s naked, i can go ahead and play normaly and she’ll stay that way?

Great Gospel won’t work… needs to be potions. Not X potions or elixirs etc… just the standard potion.

Also, do NOT let her get knocked out! Using a Phoenix Down to revive her, will just reset the process to the beginning again. So keep her alive and safe all the time.

I wouldn’t risk it. I can’t remember if I did it when I played (which was a few years ago) but to be on the safe side, just stick with potions. As for playing her normally after she’s nude, I don’t really know if she’ll stay that way or not.

And XD is right too about it has to be the standard potion.

so just not use aeris limit move when tifa is in group? any way to exclude tifa and cast it?

You would have to kill Tifa, but then that would mean you would have to use a Phoenix Down or a revive spell on her which you CANNOT do or the code won’t work. Not sure if keeping her dead until a point in the game where everyone is cured or using an inn will work or not. I guess just keep close tabs on your characters.

And buy lots of potions for Tifa and the rest.

EDIT: I would tell you when it ends, but I can’t remember.

There WAS a way to be able to have Aeris use Great Gospel and exclude Tifa from it’s effect arc… I think you have to have Aeris with just her initial weapon and in her swimsuit.

To get Aeris in her swimsuit… hoo boy, that’s a long progression of tasks…

alright so i think i got it:

only use ATTACK with tifa, i’m guessing limit moves work

only heal her with potions.

and INN resting is ok?

I had no idea you can do that. If I knew this then getting Tifa naked would’ve been so much easier :(.

And I said I wasn’t sure about using inns. But if you want to go ahead but I wouldn’t count on seeing Tifa’s naked bod because I really don’t think it would work if you used an inn.

Depends on the Inn. The one in Junon works… not sure about elsewhere though. Play safe and just use the one in Junon.

cause i never played this game before, and i don’t want to stumble into leaving disc 1 before completing this trick

As IDX said, good luck. It takes a lot of trial and error to get this done, not as much as the Aeris Swimsuit or the ‘hot air balloon’ Yuffie, but is probably the best of the three.

I recall there being a fourth one as well… but I can’t recall how you go about it.

You’ll most likely have to start over a bunch of times too. Just so you know. And I haven’t heard of the Yuffie one. And doesn’t the fourth one deal with Zack and Aeris when they were "together" or something?

Yeah, now that I think of it you’re right IDX… the fourth one DOES entail Zack and Aeris when they were together… a FMV CS I think.

I think a friend of mine mentioned it saying he was trying to get it because apparently, after watching it you can have Zack in your party afterwards. Or something. I can’t remember :(.

Also, no limit breaks for Tifa because it’s the attack command that you can only use when using Tifa, not just physical attacks in general.

STAY AWAY FROM TIFA’S LIMIT AT ALL COSTS.. you need to protect her!! you cant even let her get a limit in the game.. in order to do this you must take advantage of the cover materia always! if you fail at this and she does stumble upon a limit from being attacked then you must flee the battle immediatly and reset her limit bar.. To do this simply go into her limits and choose her level 1 limit, the game will say "are you sure you will reset her limit guage" or something like that. Say yes and you will be ok to continue.

The whole game hinges around tifa’s protection.. stay stocked up on potions (only standard potions) be certain to have her in your party when ever possible (if you take her out of your party it will not work)

Also make sure that you do not use a potion with tifa. it must be a party member that heals her. you must alwasy use the attack option with tifa. If you reach the end of the first disc you must insert the second. make sure that you are at level 99 with tifa before going to the forgotten city. When you are asked to find the lunar harp that is your que the have her at level 99.. If you activate the harp before level 99, she will stay fully clothed.

Also I can confirm that you can not use inns. the only two inns in the game which you can use is the one at kalm and junon. But only when you go there for the first time.. If you would like to be safe then stay away from inns altogether.

I would have thought this to be obvious.. you can not equip anything new on tifa.. When the transformation is made you must have all of her initially equipped weapons and armour. as the weapon and armour change into her naked weapon and armour. after she has been made naked you can change her weapons and armour but she will not remain naked. the only way she will is if you re-equip her naked weapon and armour.

as for accessory i am not sure..

Also there is no point in equipping her with materia as she can only attack. as for support materia, i again am not sure..

but i definately remember that you have to keep her standard weapon and armour for it to work

There is no way you are going to do this if you think you can do that.. you must not let her get a limit in boss battles… the best way is to finish the boss quickly. make sure ur other characters have their limits charged and save often.. you can never hit the change button. you must always attack with her..

Also there is something important that we haven’t even discussed..

The dialogue options are essential.. you must favour tifa over aeris throughout the game..

sometimes it is not apparent which choice is right and you will only get it through trial and error..

for example at the start of the game you have the option to buy a flower off aeris.. it may seem like ignoring her is the right thing to do.. BUT IT ISN’T!! You must buy the flower off her because shortly after you have the option of giving the flower to tifa or marlene. Obviously give it to tifa..

throughout the game you must ensure that tifa is the first one you speak to when given the choice and that each dialogue choice you make is correct..

a good indicator of her affection is when you go to golden saucer. if you take tifa on a date instead of aeris then you are going well..

Apparently, a friend of mine said his friend managed to take Barret on the date because he talked to him the most lol.

Whether or not that’s true I have no idea but it’s funny to think about.

Date options are Tifa, Aeris, Yuffie and Barret. I am 100% serious.

But Barret and Yuffie dates are super rare and super difficult to get because they require never using Tifa or Aeris in battle and always choosing rude speech options with them.

ok so is it ok if i reset her limit as much as i like? or only if she manages to get limit attack mode (tifa)

i really know the answer i just want to make sure, only makes sense that u can because she WILL get attacked. but not sure if i can only reset her limit when she’s at full limit mode

And you can reset your limit bar by switching to a different level Limit to use. But that requires you unlocking it, which requires you to use the character.

yes to answer your question you are allowed to reset her limit at your own leisure.. make sure to always reset her limit before boss battles.

Any other battle doesn’t really matter as you can flee from the battle as soon as her limit bar becomes full.

I dont think it is fair for people to spoil parts of the game. you will notice that most of the things that i have said are keeping the main parts of the story a secret..

Just make sure that you follow everything to the letter..

Also when you go to kalm and have the flash back (which is just after you leave midgar) make sure that you search in tifa’s house for her underpants in the draw. This will activate her underpants to be there later in the game. Which you can collect after turning tifa naked. This will ensure that she stays naked when you do something other than attacking. When we say naked, she will be wearing the underpants but it is possible once she has those on to use limit breaks and such.

It is a great story. Even better with a naked character!

Without knowing what it was for (before learning about the naked cheat), I did think it was kind of odd to find her underpants of all things to find. But it makes sense though.

That was a total clue to the naked cheat… a lot of people got that clue when playing the game through.. it wasn’t until 2000 that the cheat to get her naked was finally revealed. and the secret to the underpants finally discovered.

One of my times through the game, I took barret out on the date, I was trying for yuffie, but fudged it up. He doesn’t say a whole lot, just a little about his time in his previous occupation.

I wonder how the OP is going on his quest to see Tifa’s pixels. If you are reading this kid then let us know
