i didnt like the japanese soundtrack, i prefered the mellow, synth nature of the english dub, and was wondering if a soundtrack or rip exists
thanks very much 🙂
That would be a hard number to find out about considering if you tried searching you’d more likely only run into people talking about the series OSTs, the Movie’s OSTs… and so on from Japan.
But who produced the English version of the anime? This will help you find out whether they are a studio known for releasing their English versions of the OST… or not. And some studios never do, and when asked give you some generic response like … not enough fans asked.
Which gets you stuck with petitioning real people… and how many people do you know in life who know this anime exists? Sure the internet is great… but they have the right to refuse that petition because people can double-sign or use aliases to stuff the boxes…. and they wouldn’t be able to prove otherwise without some short of IP address checker attached. And I have seen a few petitions actually willing to do this…
Long story short… it’s probably unlikely an English version exists. But I’d also like to suggest trying to write a letter to the English composer (if you can). Sometimes they are willing to help out; and have the copyrights to their own material… or at least most of it. But not always as the studio usually buys those out… so the owner can’t later release a CD without asking for permission to use their own material… it’s stupid, but that’s the land of music.
thanks for the info though, seems il have to stick to listening to the music while watching the anime itself 🙂

KILLED
Only 4 out of the 11 mirrors are dead. The rest are alive and well
so how exactly do you access that link u posted?
Turns out it was my router being a pain and blocking access to that site (dunno why) But the link u provided me with worked fine and I now have the files.
So thank you very much.:)
Here are the audio spectri (?) of a flac and mp3 file included in the above post.
Here’s an example of an audio spectrum of a typical lossless file from the Xenogears OST:

There was never a soundtrack releases. Although in the credits they say that "soundtrack available at…" (forgot what it says)
Truth is, there was never a soundtrack release for the UK version. But the UK dubbing also features some original Japanese tunes. The only to get the soundtrack would be to rip it from dvds. I must say, I am not that peaky with the fact it may have voices. At least someone would rip the unreleased tracks. and I prefer that they have sfx instead of those tools of TRYING to cut voice and sfx, and instead it makes the track not audible at all. Not me. I find much more annoying.

Thanks in advance for any trouble.
No. there was never any kind of official thing…..
Thanks again.
Thanks again.Yeah, I ripped (more like demuxed) that BGM straight from an old .ogm of the OVA via virtualdub. I found the other clips online, so I cannot vouch for their source.
