It says in the forum charter that VII remake threads are a no no. Please read the forum charters, in the future.
Personally I’m one who doesn’t want a remake. I’ve stated my reasons in numerous other posts, so I’m not going to go into detail or get back into the fire, so to speak. Be warned though, that threads like this usually are closed pdq, due to the forum charter stating no remake threads.
they want all the original production members to be back to make it though,
it will probably be multi platform.
However, given that FF7 was the first playstation game, and playstation 3 is backwards compatible to work with that, I doubt they’ll consider it until the hypothetical playstation 4 is released. Then we would be able to see FFVII in insanely awesome graphics of the ‘future’, lol.
:sigh:
/sits and waits for a mod to close this thread
Weak characters, boring battle system, lackluster OST, poor dialogue
I’d play the game.
I do think FF7 had a decent base in that ‘semi-predictable 90s American kids cartoon’ sort of a way.
Is it overrated? God yes.
Does it have potential? Sure.
If SE did more of a ‘re-imagination’ than a ‘remade’ would I play it? Yeah, sure, why not.
Then I’d ask for FF4/6/8 to be remade.
:tksays:
I would buy it if it was remade, mainly just for the graphics and hopefully voice acting. Ignoring all the hate that this game gets, simple things like fixing the grammar errors or lego graphics would give the fans (or VII fans) a reason to play it again.
On the other hand, I can see why it shouldn’t be remade, mainly because it would be just another addition in the FFVII sideshow that is a cash cow. If they focused the energy that they use for the VII series, they could make an excellent FF??? game that would make the series valued again.
Would I buy it if it was remade? Yes
Would I stress myself out if it wasn’t? No
*cough* yeah *cough* *wheeze*. Who wants to see 2 people make idiots of themselves on the internet? Not me *cough* *cough*
:tommydissapproves:
There is a reason threads about remakes are not allowed. They degenerate ito flame sessions, people for it and people against it, hurling comments/abuse at each other.
There have been numerous threads pop up in the past about this very topic, and they have always turned into threads of abuse etc aimed at anyone else who has posted in the thread. I’m not saying that is what this one will turn into, but going by past examples, it’s best that these threads don’t pop up.
One of the moderators for this section will shut this one down soon BEFORE things escalate.
Well in my opinion Square should make a series of sequels that takes place in the world of FFIX.
But then again, what’s more silly, that, or a remake of FFVII? ;-*
Ugh, I hated Kingdom Hearts, I like most of FF, but I think it was the Disney element that turned me off. Don’t get me wrong, I liked some of it, but as soon as it skips into Disney, hmmmmm. But who am I to argue no denying it is very popular. As an employee of the company I will say BUY BUY PLAY PLAY it, but as a gamer…ugh.
I think the Disney aspect is fantastic, seeing Disney and Final Fantasy intwine is both fascinating and is pretty much what made the game so great. A memorable cast of villains and heros.
KH2 sorta failed on really utilising disney characters like KH1 did but KH2 had a ton of it’s own characters to make up for it.
Remake is a no-no. *revs up chainsaw*
Edit: BTW, Centercore7989, that avatar’s face looks just like the shooting gallery man from the Dark World in Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

I hate Disney for the very reason they turned much loved fictional characters (which were originally created by other authors) into nothing more than brand names.
And Square Enix’s partnership with them was just a cynical money-grabbing scheme to suck as much gil out of FF and Disney fans as possible. Not to mention it’s not even part of the FF canon.
As for my opinions of a next-gen remake of FFVII, (why does it always have to be on the PS3? – There are other consoles besides Sony’s overpriced hype machine), my attitude towards the idea hasn’t changed, but to clarify: Square Enix should leave the game alone and concentrate on new games rather than rehashes of old ones.
But the brain-dead fanbase keeps bitching and moaning for one, so it’s likely SE will probably remake it eventually anyway, much to my annoyance.
But that is, as they say, entirely my own opinion.
I mean, there’s game breaking glitches/bugs/crashes.
It’d be GREAT.
…best reply so far. n_n

Completely agree in every aspect, KH kills disney & SQ-EX should do more new titles, enough of FF.
I just hope the remake/remaster/port/whatever comes out well, at the very least.
Y’all are the only ones who care for the imaginary characters these companies have brought to the world to appease us all. To them, they are insignificant little icons that they market, just flimsy, stupid little pieces of paper that people pay money for. Meh.

The game’s awesome, so I really don’t care about that, who gives a damn if it isn’t part of the FF canon? It’s still awesome.
And Business’ exist to make money, Square and Disney haven’t done anything wrong, they made an awesome game together, and for that they deserve to make money off of it.

Sometimes game companies make games to just…make games. Yes, it IS a cash cow for them, but that’s most likely not the only reason they made the KH series. I would hope not anyway.
And is it such a bad thing that KH wasn’t out of the ‘FF cannon’? Personally I liked that they mixed in the FF Universe with Disney, especially the bosses of the game, and the sidekicks that join you in each world. To me it was innovative.
FF has been on the Playstation alone (until recently) since VII. I would certainly like for it to be remade (if it’s remade) on the PS3. Other platforms are welcome to it too imo, but if the PS3 is excluded, that would make a lot of fan(boys) pissed off.
I’ve said this earlier, I wouldn’t mind if it was remade, but I’m not really holding out for it either. I agree with you that they could put their energy to better use creating an entirely new game.
You know you can change that right? I really hope you knew this 😉

I didn’t want to get back into this… :sigh: However, here’s my PoV of this…
I agree with all that Enkidoh has stated above, as I’ve discussed this numerous times with Enkidoh before. The Remakes of FF games started after Sakaguchi Hironobu, the father of Final Fantasy left SE as he had no intention for remakes/re-masters/etc. Now that he’s gone, SE has gone and remade etc etc etc the earlier FF’s. All the talk of a remake for FFVII seemingly sprang back to the fore due to the PS3 Technical demo, which was of the opening sequence of FFVII.
My own feelings of a remake/re-master… No. Leave FFVII as it is. The majority of people who are screaming for a remake are either newer players to the FF series, who were introduced to the the series via the PlayStation 2 Generation of FF’s (FFX, FFX-2, FFXII. I don’t include FFXIO in that listing as it’s a MMORPG and is on multiple platforms), and don’t like the graphics of the original PlayStation FFVII.
All the talk about wanting FFVII with better graphics, voices etc… Why? It’s a classic and should be left as it is. Just my own opinion of the whole ‘FFVII Remake/etc) thing.
Counting down…
…no
It’s under the Customize menu, you can change the controls to whatever you want!
Consider this your Christmas gift 😉
Anyways, that being said, VII was a milestone in the RPG genre… that’s true. Goldeneye also was a milestone in the first person shooter genre being one of the first to put gamers into a full 3D first person shooter environment, but there’s no huge demand over trying to remake it because it’s too much of a legal headache to get it remade. Rare being sold off to Microshit in 2002, the game was licensed by Nintendo and the James Bond video game rights are owned by Activision. Besides Microsoft and Nintendo went into a bit of a dispute when Microsoft wanted to port Goldeneye to the xbox live arcade and decided to cancel it and destroyed the hype there. Maybe VII needs to suffer a similar fate as Goldeneye in order to shut all the hype up about remaking it and leave it as it is. Honestly, I love VII & VIII… but as I’ve said before no remake. That is my opinion.
I’ve PM’d two mods now about it, so hopefully it will be soon.
yes
Stop speculating. It was even re-released on PSN. It’s rathar apparant that all of the focus is going out to FFXIII and FFXIV right now.
Oh btw, that tech demo of FF7 for the PS3 is what, 3-4 years old now? if they really were going to do a remake, don’t you think we’ve atleast had some info now?
No?
Awww that sucks.
