They dislike it mostly because the song sucks. But more importantly SE is removing a song the composer of FF13 wrote for the game! The composer had a theme/idea for the score of ff13 and replacing an important song with a random one really screws up the game. Imagine if you wrote a book or soundtrack or something and the corporation replaced one chapter/song with some random dudes song/writting just to make money. I’d be pissed.
They should just adapt the song to english like they have done with all the previous FF games. Like melodies of life from FF9. They had an english and japanese version of the song.

Personally, the song is okay. Obviously, Leona Lewis has talent…I just don’t think a lot of US fans care for THAT song being the theme of the game.
…I can’t say that I’m not one of those fans.

I got nothing against Leona Lewis. It’s just that I feel that it’d have been more appropriate had us fans get to see a famous J-pop singer or group to do the theme FFXIII.
When they announced Leona Lewis, it was just random for me.
