Soothing & Heart Touching Sounds

Doing this compilation , was partly motivated by the nostalgia of some tracks/sound. But I got to keep some consistency on my choices. To describe the compilation, I ‘d say that it progress first from mildly joyful tarcks, to more "sad" and more silent ones , some providing an almost "religious" experience (especially "Making of Cyborg" , and then again "Slow the Wind/Pie Jesu"). Then slowly again it progress to more "happy" tunes , until the last one that could be overwhelming. I find the whole compilation pretty easy to listen, with the exception perhaps of the "windmill hut". I’ve put an acceleration effect, that remind somehow that it spins faster & faster once in the game.

In some tracks I only kept a part to better fit the overall compilation, or so that it’s not boring. When the track is severely reduced to a small portion, I’ve put the mention "excerpt".

Thanks for your comment. Some choices were pretty tough, while doing the compilation, and I’ve discarded other interesting stuff . My aim, was to cram stuff I like the most , in the duration of a CD (In fact 77 min) , and with other more or less subjective constraints.

The story behind the track " Elders Drinking Song" is interesting, I’ve discovered it after performing some search . I liked the background vocals in the song "return of innocence" of Enigma, but just wanted to get rid of the lyrics. Then I’ve discovered that the background vocals were used without authorization (well, this is called stealing too) from Difang Duana ( Aboriginal from Taiwain) and his wife Igay Duana. The "Elders Drinking Song" is a remix done by a guy from "Deep Forest", without the less interesting lyrics from Enigma. Difang Duana got a relatively stupid death: blood poisoning due to a centipede bite . And as if it was not stupid enough, his wife died soon after too.

Thank you for this, there are a lot of great tracks in this compilation.
