Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep

Anyone following the news on this game? I for one think it’s looking to turn out to be the best kingdom hearts game yet.

It’ll be awesome seeing the nobodies from orgXIII as their sombodies, it’s actually surprising to see how young some of them are, Ienzo (zexion) is just a kid, so are Lea (Axel) and Saix (don’t know his true name yet).

for those that don’t know:

Ten years before Sora took up the Keyblade, a Keyblade Master, Master Xehanort and his apprentice, Vanitas suddenly disappear, and around the same time, a strange but malicious species known as the Unversed begin to appear. Believing this to be the foreshadowing of a great disaster, Keyblade Master Eraqus sends his three apprentices, Terra, Aqua and Ven to locate Master Xehanort and Vanitas.

In Ultimania, when asked about Birth by Sleep, Nomura answered: "Birth by Sleep will be a very important game that collects everything about the series into one story. With the three main characters, the story is as big as one of the numbered Final Fantasies. We put in a lot of connections to it in Days, and I think that a lot of questions and unknowns from the previous game will be answered in Birth by Sleep. Also, there will be quite a few original characters from previous making an appearance. This game is set the farthest in the past of any other, so it connects to Kingdom Hearts, but the main characters are three that haven�t appeared in the other games. So how their story will end, which will of course be shown in the game, will leave you wondering even more after the game has finished."

It should interesting to note that Ventus is going to be voiced by the same person who voiced Roxas and that Vanitas’ voice in the latest trailer is the same japanese actor as Sora.

And so far, the disney worlds involved are:

Sleeping Beauty
Snow White
Cinderella
Lilo And Stich (the space part of it)
Neverland
Disney Town
Olympus Colliseum
100 acre wood (ffs :mad:)
(rumoured worlds are jungle book, atlantica and pinnochio)

And a FF character is confirmed, Zack will be making an apperance continuing the trend of a character appearing in the olympus colliseum.

What system is this coming out for? I haven’t been following it, but I certainly will from now on. Even IF there’s another fucking 100 Acre Wood world (hopefully optional).

LEA (Pronounced Lee-uh)
A mischievous boy who plays with a Frisbee marked with flames. He has flaming red hair and alluring eyes. Is this the boy who would become Organization XIII’s No.8, Axel?
Lea: Memorize it!

ISA (Pronounced Eye-za)
A calm, cool, and collected young man. It seems he was the past form of the Organization’s No. 7, Saix. His facial scar does not appear yet.

Lea is pronounced as Lee (said it in 384/2 Days or whatever). But I haven’t really been checking this one out that much.

And Terra is a hidden boss in Final Mix+ and what he says has sparked many rumors as to what could’ve happened to him.

And it isn’t certain whether the knight is Terra, it’s known officially as the "Lingering Sentiment" and it’s speculated that it might not be Terra at all.

I’ve heard that it is him. Because he wears the same armor, wields the same keyblade, and he says something. Dammit, I can’t remember what he says!

I’ll post back later what the deal was behind what he said because it’s how many people think (or say they know) that it is him.

Oh I know the story behind why it’s thought to be Terra, however there are notable differences between Terra and the lingering sentiment, mainly in the keyblade and the cape which differ from the Terra in BBS.

The lingering Sentiment mentions Aqua and Ven of course but I don’t think it’s Terra himself but has connections to him, expecially since it’s heavily implied that Terra ends up becomming Xehenort, and if that’s true, lingering sentiment couldn’t be Terra.

Yeah, that would be true. Hmm…I dunno. That’s why I hate theories based on video games soon to be released. But who knows, maybe they just might dismiss the sentiment when BBS comes out.

But it’s still one hell of a fight though and with Action Replay Max, you can have him on your team :D!

Haha yeah, you can even play as him, although it’s very glitchy.

Yeah, it is (but that’s how it goes when you’re doing something with a game that you shouldn’t be doing ;)) but when it’s not, it’s pretty darn cool.

Yet another game I am anticipating. That’s the first I’ve seen of those pics. It’s interesting to see Axel and Saix’s Somebody.

Good morning. Is everyone enjoying FINAL FANTASY XIII? This is Nomura and I’m writing on here for the second time.

This is late, but this entry is based off of the new promotional video that has been shown.

How was the promotional video? We even included scenes from the secret ending. This time we didn’t include a lot of scenes from the game, so as a last minute resort, we added the secret ending into the promotional video.

Arranging your deck is a big part of how you complete the game. Collect as many as possible and see what works with you best.

A hard part for me in the game was defeating the "Buckle Bruiser" in the Olympus Coliseum. This counts in a limitation time that the un-versed has to be defeated. It’s irritating as much as the "Large Body" heartless.

For the command board, if it doesn’t work out, you don’t have to reset it. You can upgrade and use your commands as many times. It should be enjoyable for the most part.

We’ve put a lot of different elements into this game, and I really feel that we’ve made it interesting. We only have a little longer before the game releases.

Please invite your friends, since you can play on adhoc. Another entry will be written as we get closer to the release date.

I’m not entirely sure but I think decks are to do with the special moves you use in battle or something.

Oh. Well I hope it won’t be as bothersome because I get a little ticked off when I can’t attack because I have to reload my cards.

lol I’ve already watched a ton of scenes and gameplay, alot of things were answered in this one 😀

Gotta love how the isos get out so fast. I will say this though, i am very let down. And the fact that i’m pretty much done with the series and i’m just giving up on it now.

The storyline bends to the will of fangirls now and it’s nothing more than an out of body story where things happen just because they can and nothing has to have a rhyme or reason to happen.

I’m not posting any spoilers for this game unless someone asks me to but i say this seriously, don’t hold your breath waiting for this game to come out. You’ll feel cheated out of your time and money if you were expecting something as good as the first game or even close. As always the only thing impressive about this is the soundtrack and graphics.

If the word "Retarded" was a substance then that would be what is filling in the plot holes. They actually have a colour edit of Sora in this game and they called it a new character. I wish i was kidding you.

I’m just giving up now. I’ve been on with this series since it’s come out and frankly i just can’t take it anymore.

Vanitas looks like Sora? There’s an actual reason for this. Vanitas represents the darkness in Ven, this darkness was extracted by Master Xehanort and used to create Vanitas. At the end of the credits, you see Ventus’s soul entering Sora, this is most likely why Sora grows up and ends up looking like Vanitas. It’s also why Roxas looks like Ven.

Not sure what was so bad about the plot, the game explained so much for me.

Legally it’s only out in Japan right now, but others use Isos of the game which is pretty much the same thing as an emulator.

This is the best things can gather of the sense this story makes. Don’t click it if you don’t want spoilers.

It took this many games to fill in THAT many plot holes the first two games made. God help everyone if Nomura actually makes Kingdom Hearts III, because by his make of how he releases games, he’ll put enough plot holes in that one for over a decade to come.

But really in a Nut shell that the story has shown us how things work, Shit happens, Team up with disney characters, DARKNESS!, People turn into two different things when they die, large group of people formed from DARKNESS try to become human again, Anyone can turn into anything for any reason for no reason at all, Laugh my ass off while the only black dude in the game has a thing for saying DARKNESS twice in every sentence, Then Sora and Mickey have a contest to see who can dress in the most black belts and zippers and then pretty much same thing onward from there to fill in all the sequels. Also DARKNESS.

It kinda makes me wonder why they are still even using Disney worlds at all anymore. I mean without them i know you’re pretty much just looking at another Final Fantasy, but it just seems like they deal less and less with them these days you know.

I’m probably not the only one who thinks this but…

do you suppose MX/Terranort’s Unversed will be the final antagonist if there is a KH-3, his Heartless & Nobody (Ansem & Xemnas) were already defeated respectively?
I don’t know too much about the Unversed, but since they’re lacking the final of the 3 key elements (a soul in this case) it makes me think they are all the more dangerous and maybe stronger, suggestions?

that’s interesting i didn’t know the two were directly connected.
But then there’s the matter of…
What about MX/Terranort’s original body (or maybe "husk" is more appropriate), it has to play some integral role in KH3 especially with the revelations (more like a confirmation i suppose) about Terra’s fate. I’m guessing the plot will be to free & reunite the original 3 (or at least it could be a subplot) ultimately leading to the creation/return of "the Kingdom hearts", which is also why i think it is necessary for Terra’s original body (the husk or "shell") to return if only to expell MX from his body so he can become whole.

I’m loving all these spoiler tags. Because I refuse to click on them even though it’s pretty damn tempting.

Terra’s original body is taken over by MX and becomes the Xehanort we saw in kingdom hearts 2, the heartless and nobody of this Xehanort are beaten in kingdom hearts 1 and kingdom hearts 2, Nomura has stated that the original being could return if both their heartless and nobody are defeated, so we may see Xehanort in the next game (which seems to be called Reconnect: Kingdom Hearts based on the secret ending)

Hm.. I was wondering why Ven and Roxas looks so much alike. My theory on this is that Ven’s heart may have been placed into Sora ( dont know how) by Terra. Then when Sora became a heartless in KH 1 Roxas/Ven was released. Although I could be wrong, its just a theory.

It seems Nomura’s decided to be nice to us for once, people are wondering why the games taking so long, it’s because they’re adding more too it, think of it like a final mix version for us instead of the japs getting everything.

New features include:

> new keyblades
> new cutscenes
> new boss (think it’s only one new boss)
> Critical Mode added
> Game in general will be harder (I think bosses might have more health in our version)
> More multiplayer modes

Dunno if there will be anything else, might be, this was just off the top of my head. No english trailers but there are english pictures, most of the cast is confirmed except for the voices of Terra and Aqua.

Guys, just watch the whole game on youtube. They beat it already, and have subtitles. I watched the beginning, end, and secret endings. It even has Zack from FF7! I don’t want to spoil it (oh brother), but speculation days are over!

I already did that when the game came out, I was watching streams and stuff anyway some people don’t want to spoil themselves until they play the english version themselves so yeah those people are probably still speculating stuff we already know lol.

Sorry if it’s a little late but this is what they did with the first KH game. In the Japanese version (not Final Mix), they didn’t have some of the things we did such as Sephiroth, Kurt Zisa (sp?), or that Phantom in Neverland. I can’t remember if there was more or not but the Japanese got pissed and that’s why they released Final Mix only for Japan. If anything, the same thing will probably happen again for this one.

I don’t think BBS will get a final mix, expecially when it’s not on a main console, that would be like 358/2 days getting a final mix.

I think we deserve to have more the the japs, especially when they go both final mixes, they really have no right to bitch about us getting more stuff in BBS.

I agree. But I still wouldn’t be surprised if they did though because they have in the past. Not sure if our version of KHII had anything the original Japanese one didn’t though so I’m only going by the first one.

And even though I have the final mixes, I’d still like them in English with the extra scenes dubbed :(.

I don’t get why we can’t have the final mixes as well? Maybe we should do a swap. Let the Japs get our additional BBS content and we get their final mixes. Everyone’s happy!

Hopefully they’ll port these KH releases to the Playstation Store or something… I don’t know why they continue to release new KH games for handhelds.

Well, I certainly would have been happy with a PS2 port. I don’t expect a KH game to be a PS3 game at this point except for KH3.

you have a point, solis. Pretty much this helped a lot to the people who didn’t really understand why basically, all of this happened, which mostly involved DARKNESS plotting the whole thing.
