Is my game bugged?

On disc 1, Watts won’t start the kidnapping mission. All he does is stand there and ask me if I would like to play cards. I’ve played him, won the Angelo card off him, grabbed the magazine from the back, checked out the dummy president… everything I can think to do, and he still refuses to ask me to carry out the mission.

I bought FFVIII off PS3’s Playstation Network, so I don’t have any discs. I’m speculating if this is the problem or not, but maybe someone will have a definitive answer. Thanks for helpin’!

what button are you pressing when you talk to him?? if it is the square button i think we may have found your problem. try pressing X when you talk to him and see if it makes a difference

Yea I kinda thought of the same thing, I’m definitely pressing both buttons and he gives the same response with each.

Wait a sec… I was hoping it would be something really stupid like this, and it was. You were absolutely correct cheema, I must have been pressing Square!

i probly did the same thing which is why i knew how to fix it! haha

have fun playing through the game and give collecting all the cards a go.. but dont bother following that card queen bitch around for her cards. you can pick them up off her in disc 4.
