Word is it will take close to the end of the month to mail out all of the orders. So a little patience is recommended.

I’m a bit sad about Soviet March as well — but considering what they *did* manage to get (I imagine licensing and permission was a nightmare for some of these), I’m also not complaining. A double CD and bonus DVD for 20 US? Sold.

The last word is that NONE of them have been mailed out yet. Instead of staggering the deliveries, Eminence is holding off any until the second print run (which they did either at the last minute or even after it) is complete. So in the concertmaster’s words, there are already quite a few cds packed and ready to go.

…Which honestly pisses me off, but hey. When it gets here it gets here. I was at the concert and know it’ll be worth the wait.

Has Eminence even shipped this out to people who ordered it from their website yet? I’m still waiting on my copy to arrive. 🙁

Sadly, I heard that the Australian company that owns the Eminence orchestra has reputedly gone into voluntary administration (one step away from bankruptcy), although apparently the orchestra itself isn’t disbanding or anything. It will just be taken on by another company or organization.

Either way, this would most likely be the reason for CDs releases being delayed.

There is a review of the double cd online — google for it — but it’s fairly clear it’s just a rushed review of leaked mp3s, as the reviewer doesn’t mention the bonus dvd content (which will feature extra pieces that couldn’t fit on the cds). He also doesn’t seem particularly familiar with the content, and wasn’t at the concert (doesn’t realise the track order on the cd =/= the concert programme). Since I can find no one else who has a physical copy yet, I can only believe the mp3s were either stolen by said reviewers (unlikely, but that’s one claim) or Eminence gave them the music for an exclusive ‘pre-release’ review. The only real use of the review is it lists the times of the tracks, and there are some bigguns. 100 minutes total.

Either way, the whole thing’s been a clusterfrak from the start, which wouldn’t be such a tragedy if the concert itself hadn’t been an amazing performance from start to finish on the night. I wait…and keep waiting.

It’s now being shipped out to the people who ordered the CD. Now all we can do now is wait for someone to get their hands on it first. Unfortunately, we have no idea as to how long we have to wait. 🙁
