Please give time for the links to receive the upload.
Here are high-resolution captures of the booklet that accompanies the OST :
(You may use the first image as album cover)
Hope you enjoy my upload (and the game and its music).
Do leave your thanks in the thread so I know my upload isn’t futile (and would motivate me to make other quality uploads in the future).
Until next time, my friends.
this is the itunes release. the album art is from that release. unfortunately there won’t be an official cd release.
the possibility of a high quality ost would only be from a game rip. the game is in pcm lossless 7.1
Problem is the ps3 games are encrypted with some sort of bluray sector that even the files themselves cant be ripped.
This is the main problem with ps3 ripping right now, i think ps3 might use Atrac as audio codec like on psp but a higher format, im not sure.
what’s your method?
phono to phono? can this be a good lossless recording or even this way it will involve some loss?
i’ve been thinking of trying this method for other games too.
mmmm i dont have this option. my samsung 5.1 system has headphones out. so phono to phono into the pc. i can master and level it out. either way the game audio is still dolby digital and is lossy to some extent, however i’d preserve what it is in flac. even this is better than nothing? or i can stick the 360 game into my pc and rip the data somehow?
I had now idea it was on 360.
lol no. i have some games i can rip on 360 that havent been uploaded before. we’re just dicussing if the method of recording the audio is effective.
Oh? what games? =O There are quite a few games on 360 that i’m dying to get music from ^^;
Analog recordings are always lossy. The only current way to get a digital rip of PS3 games is using toslink optical in. Most computers and sound cards aren’t capable of doing this.
Thanks a bunch Nemesishunter, you’ve just done everyone here at ffshrine a great thing, especially since it’s so soon after a game releases on the market, someone other than a developer was able to get a hold of this soundtrack so soon. Its just……..godly XD
BTW: How on earth did you get a hold of the collectors edition if you mind me asking? I was looking pretty desperately for sources on trying to get one, and played a fair share on the multiplayer beta, but I had no luck.
primarily just virtua fighter 5, but that idea was before i converted to lossless.

your right, i only have optical out. :/ this whole excersise might be hassle.

Hm, what exactly does that mean? I can’t check the disc for myself, since my Blu-ray player has a rare PS3-lock. An accurate rip would be awesome, since it’s hard to get some tracks from the game. Some cues are only played, when you are in direct combat, however even if you don’t shoot the enemies, Elena will eventually do so and stop the cue.
i currently ripping this one with the first game!
I will start to rip some tracks from Among Thieves then, as soon as my new cinch cables arrived. At the moment I can’t hear the music while recording it, which is very uncomfortable.

For example funnyML if you dump the bluray iso with your ps3, and examine some of the files, in a hex editor they will look exatcly the same, and you cant do anything with them, means its encrypted, compare a 360 file such as a guitar hero FSB bank with a ps3’s FSB bank from same game. in the 360′ FSB audio bank you will see the fsb4 header with the filename inside it, on a ps3 fsb bank nothing because the encryption, and theres no way yet to get around this decryption code because the ps3 is the only one that had the keys to unlock them on-the-fly from the laser when it reads it.
Pretty crap.
Pretty crap.
Thanks for clearing that up. So you can’t access the files, but still see them and guess, which format they used?
On ps3 you cant, you can just see the files on the disc but cant acces them.
If anyone here has the " Uncharted 2: Among Thieves? Closed Beta " on Ur XMB, you’ll know which music i’m talking about ..
When you "HIGHLIGHT" Uncharted 2: Among Thieves? Closed Beta, theres a really cool cliff hanger song that loops…

There’s quite a few cues missing from the official OST release. Some of the more prominent ones include the skirmishes in Borneo, the Nepal Warzone, and the Monastery. I’m looking into recording at least a few of these. (Hooray for individual volume adjusters for Music, Sound Effects, and Voices!)
Thanks but for me is always an MP3,like a friend of mine convert MP3 to WMA but is always an MP3 modified………..
Anyway I download the soundtrack 🙂
Many thanks
Um.. do u know which one I’m talking about..? THE XMB Icon music for Closed beta
I don’t. Is that music featured somewhere on youtube, maybe, so I can get a listen to it?
By the way, there are tons of music cues missing on the OST. A lot of the cutscene tracks, for instance. And all action cues are played in at least 3 different versions. Also, most of the cues on the OST are shorter than in the game.

Good point, but the codec used on the iTunes soundtrack retains the full frequency bandwidth, which MP3 doesn’t.
But this is a REAL APE or not?
many thanks mr.funyml
Does anybody know the actual chronological order of the soundtrack ?
Does anybody know the actual chronological order of the soundtrack ?
You can’t order the tracks properly, since they were mixed up. "Cornered", for instance, is the first part of the cutscene with Lazarevic killing Jeff (this is the scene, where the track title came from). The other part is from other segments of the game. Some action cues are used multiple times in the game, so you can’t tell for all of them, where they were supposed to be originally.
Still you can make a better order than they did. I hate when they do that.
Does anybody know the actual chronological order of the soundtrack ?
I’ll give it a shot:
01 A Rock And A Hard Place
02 Among Thieves
03 Breaking And Entering
04 Desperate Times
05 Bustin’ Chops
06 The City’s Secret
07 Refuge
08 Helicopter And Tank
09 Warzone
10 Train Wrecked
11 Marco Polo
12 Cat And Mouse
13 Brutal Combo Mambo
14 The Monastery
15 The Gates of Shambala
16 Broken Paradise
17 Cornered
18 Reunion
19 Nate’s Theme 2.0
20 The Road To Shambala
I did do a bit of shuffling for some of the tracks. Nate’s Theme 2.0 for example — conceivably, it does play at the very start of the game, but as it also plays for the first part of the end credits, I think it caps off the soundtrack better the way The Road To Shambala segues from it. I also put Reunion as part of the ending, rather than before The Monastery when you meet up with Schfer again.
Also, if you decide to download the ten additional songs I recorded in this thread (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showpost.php?p=1363044&postcount=39), here’s a more fleshed out tracklisting.

Your ordering is wrong. That’s not chronological. Cornered for example plays in chapter 6 and 8. Sooo…yeah
