Actually, they are different. The file numbers all vary. The reason that they showed up like this is because the file names were way too long so I guess rapidshare cut them off.

Actually, there is one extremely diffictult-to-find CD by Hisaishi called Sunny et ‘Elephant, 2008 movie produced in France.

I recall that the other Hisaishi thread shows the link to the lossy version of the score.

Just in case you have lossless version, I would deeply appreciate if you can post it.

This is a great thread. Joe’s music is fantastic, and what better way to appreciate it than in lossless.

Some of them are still true lossless album… for example 2003 Live Best,
I downloaded that one, no problem for extraction.

Be careful with the .cue files, because it’s in japanese, sometimes windows change the name or the characters, so you have to rename the .ape file and the .cue file and the name in the cue file too!

I had to do that for 2003 Live Best!

Conclusion: This track looks like MPEG with probability 95%
Audiochecker is not good for checking the lossless-authenticity of an album, I’ve a FLAC rip off my own original copy of the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Original Soundtrack and that software had the guts to tell me that 10 files were MP3s! The only good way to tell if a file is lossless or not, to date, is spectrum analysis (and even in this case, if you don’t know what you’re looking for you wouldn’t notice the difference).

I did spectrum analysis of Pretender.

Maybe 2,3,4 tracks was compressed (up-convert from mp3 320kbps?). We can see frequency cut on ~ 19kHz. But it can be just not good CD rip or not good original CD.

What is the difference between the Image Album and the OST?

Image albums contain music that were inspired from the storyboards of a film, meaning the music were composed before the film’s completion.

An OST contains actual music from the film. Music from the image album may or may not end up in the OST.
