Lightcaster here, I just wanted to know what was your fav Classic FF game of all time (that’s I-VI only)? Mine is almost a tie between 5 and 6, but 6 was just so awesome that it wins. So for me Final Fantasy 6 was the greatest of them all!
Post up your fav FF game here! 😀
VI
also, IV.
Although, if this is just for the classics (since this is in the classics section), I’ll take IV.
There is a thread for this in Gen. FF, but since I’m not mod on both forums, I can’t merge them. So, I’ll rename this thread, and if Agent wants to merge ’em, he can.
:tksays:
Square’s golden age definitely ended on the highest possible note with this game.
Quality post which references another quality post.
It’s the only classic I ever played.
FF6 is just freaking epic.
Epic has lost its meaning…
But there’s something about FFIV I love the most. Cecil starting out as a Dark Knight… overcoming the betrayal from one he swore fealty to, leaving his love behind, meeting other characters, becoming a Paladin etc…
Also… Tellah for using one of the most memorable lines ever in a FF game to describe Edward…
YOU SPOONY BARD!!
VI for me. Terra and Celes, Edgar’s Tools, the opera. the Phantom Train, big mechs, and of course, that demonic clown.
Square’s golden age definitely ended on the highest possible note with this game.
YEP YEP. You guys are dead-on. That was the golden age of not only square, but in my eyes all RPG games ever made. I loved the SNES so much, that to this day I still play. Gosh I need to go back and play FFVI again…
*Starts to cry* XD
Just the sheer range of combinations and possibilities that game could offer, nothing more stasifying then having 4 beserked, auto-hasted, dual wielding, ancient weapon holding tanks rip the last boss to pieces in 2 mins.
WTF?
I have to say IV, V, and VI are pretty much tied. Golden Era ftw.

YOU SPOONY BARD!!
Cid’s character riding the bomb down is one my favorites as well. And the story behind Rydia.
Now, for the SNES games, IV and VI are tied. V enforces more so the job classes and gameplay over its story, and while you really can’t call it cliche, V’s story is sure not FF’s highlight. I’d say for SNES games VI takes the cake. It’s the most epic, emotional, and shocking (WOR totally took me by surprise; I was anticipating something far different to come from confronting Kefka and Gestahl on the floating continent :O) and just the most well-rounded of the three. So, III and VI are tied for me out of the six 😀
