Accidental Quickenings

I was fighting Chaos the other night in the Necrohol and managed to pull of TWO black holes and TWO Luminescence. Usually in a fight I try to get these for the Sky Pirates Den. Now I have done all Quickenings. I was like WOW. Of course the fight started turning nasty and I thought I was dead meat. (No way I wanted to fight this again not with having just done that)..Anyways I won. Whata joyous feeling getting those quickenings.

I’m guessing you get better levels of mist Charges where the Mist is heavier/Thicker. I had tried to get Black hole and all that fighting Wolves in Estersand(so if it did go pear shaped it was no big deal), but never could.

That’s an interesting question to which I do not have the answer. It sounds like an interesting theory. Any input, Zak? Agent?

I got my Black Hole in the garamsythe waterway, right after I finally had 3 party members. Poor rat XD

I think it’s just down to luck. That said, it does seem as if certain circumstances affect Quickenings – Mist density being one of them. I never used Quickenings much, but it did seem like I was getting better chains when there was more Mist.

On a related point, does anyone know if certain characters are ‘better’ at Quickening chains? On my last game, I used parties of two, and Basch and Ashe seemed to be much more successful than the others. In fact, I never used Quickenings with the Vaan and Penelo team, because every time I tried they only got about one Mist charge.

I got every concurrence except Black Hole while in the Estersand with just Penelo and Vaan.

So Inferno is like the lower level quickenings?

Yup, I am actually playing it, I must say I like it, maybe I was a little harsh to it before.

I have no idea. It is an extremely interesting theory, though. I actually don’t have all Concurrences in my current playthrough and my characters are souped up to the point where Quickenings are pretty pointless. I’m going to have to actually take time to obtain the needed Concurrences in order to complete the Sky Pirate’s Den.

Yeah, Mist Density has to have something to do with it. I mean, my sis got Black Hole in both the Necrohol AND At the Stillshrine, yet cen’t get it anywhere else. I once got it in the Crystal against the rare knight thingy, but then I died XD.

But I think that my Balthier/Fran/Ashe group does the best. I always seem to get Luminescence with them against Yazmat. I hate him so much…
