What’s New in V2

Wii Game Formats
================================================== ==============================
Most Wii games use Streaming music (instead of Midi Seq) thus it is very easy to rip and convert into
WAV, MP3, OGG etc. You do not need a Wii in order to rip the music. I have included all the required files
in this package.
Wii games come in 2 flavors, Wii (ISO) and WiiWare (WAD) files. This doc isn’t going to cover how to make
these, but you can download them.
Download Wii ISOs
http://www.wiiiso.com/
Download WiiWare WADs
http://www.mediafire.com/timewalker
NOTE: This is only for Wii formated games, this will not work for VC which are emulated.
**Rip music from WAD files (WiiWare only)**
================================================== ==============================
1. Copy your WAD to the dir called "wwPacker181".
2. Dragon the WAD file to __wwunpacker.bat to extract it.
3. You should see a new dir created w/ a bunch of numbers like 00010001574b5450, click on that and
look for the biggest file (it’s usually 00000002.app) and be around 30mb or so…varies from game to game.
4. Copy the biggest file into "u8tool10.1" dir.
5. Open U8Tool.exe and click on the "Archive File" and choose that file, (in this case it’s 00000002.app).
6. Click on "Extract" (may take a few seconds so be patient) and should create a new dir app_OUT.
7. Click on the app_OUT dir and look for a dir called "stream" (or search for files with .brstm extention).
8. Copy the brstm files you want to convert to the dir called "vgstream-r694-test-modr1".
9. Click on the file called "_convert.bat" and it will convert into a ST WAV, auto loop and auto fade. It uses
default -l loop count. So if the file contains loop info it loops the music 2 then fades, if music has no loop
info it doesnt do a loop.
10. Use your fav method to convert the WAV into MP3, OGG or whatever.
**Rip music from Wii ISO files***
================================================== ==============================
1. Go to the dir called "Wiiscrubber" and run WIIScrubber.exe.
2. Click on "Load ISO" and open the ISO you wish to rip.
3. Once the ISO is loaded, expand the "Partition 2 DATA) tree.
4. Scroll down and look for "snd" and expand that until you see "strm" dir and see the "brstm" files.
5. Highlight one, right click and extract.
6. Copy the brstm files you want to convert to the dir called "vgstream-r694-test-modr1".
7. Click on the file called "_convert.bat" and it will convert into a ST WAV, auto loop and auto fade. It uses
default -l loop count. So if the file contains loop info it loops the music 2 then fades, if music has no loop
info it doesnt do a loop.
8. Use your fav method to convert the WAV into MP3, OGG or whatever.
Professional editing, looping, fade-out and mastering.
================================================== ==============================
V1 pack did not support auto loop, auto fade or ST WAV, but this this has been fixed in V2. You can edit
the bat file to change loop (if u want more) or adjust the fade out time.
Thanks.
-Support for both .brstm,.rwav files. Auto rip into a ST Wav, auto loop and auto fade in 1 click!
If I meddled with this sort of thing, I’d definitely give it a try. But I don’t.
I just wanted to say kudos on this. ^_^
EDIT: There’s also a file called sound_en_us.brsar that might be it. (2.51 MB) Is there a way to unpack BRSAR files?
Na 2mb is to small, be like 30-40mb or so. They could be midi based thus na can’t rip those 🙁
I’ll ask the person who helped put this together and see what he says, as I said I am not a wii ripping expert. He should know, i’ll let u know ASAP.
Again I’ll have steve take a look at it but that’s my guess…hope I am wrong.

PS: What do I do to the ASH files?
PSS: I’m looking for the sound that plays when you Shake the Wiimote inside the WAD. Is there a Way to get that?
EDIT: I found a sound.bin in the metadata folder. What should I do with it? Extract it? How?
EDIT2: My game was Pokemon Ranch, as I mentioned before.
EDIT: I extracted the sound.bin file using a Portapack tool. All I saw was a .bns file! How do I open it??
Rip music from WAD files.
6. Click on "Extract" (may take a few seconds so be patient) and should create a new dir app_OUT
I get an error.

Run time error ‘5’:
Invalid procedure call or argument

Help me~~ Thanks in advance.
^^
I’ve extracted the content of the biggest file (00000005.app in my case) but I don’t have any audio formats quoted in your list of the vgmstream supported files nor brstm files.
A tiny help would be very appreciated.
Otherwise thanks again for the tips =)
EDIT : I assume that the audio files are contained in the auddata.zap but how can I open that o_O
EDIT 2 : After opening it with an hexa-editor I can assure that the zap file contains all the aud files which must be the audio files I search for … The problem now, is to extract and convert these aud files -_-
I second this, i want to know how to rip /convert .nub files aswell cause Soul Calibur Legends uses these.
PS:isn’t sould calibur legends also a namco/namco bandai game there might be a connection between .nub and namco
(I’m not trying to insult the tool especially because it is the first guide I ever seen for ripping music/sound effects from Wii games)
I managed to use a BRSAR unpacker from HCS64, but it gave me the SFX. I think BRSAR is only for SFX. Anyway, the BRSAR from FFCC My Life as a King unpacked some RWAV files, which could be converted with VGMStream. The only other files that look anything even remotely like audio of any sort are the BRASD files in the "sound" directory.
Stupid Square Enix for not using BRSTM like most other games, why do you have to torment us so?
So do I! Any help here?
i’ll try to google for some info, but if someone know something just post it here ^^
ciap!
http://www.hcs64.com/files/ripping_mama01.zip
just drag the .brsar file on the ripping_mama bat.
doing this you get some .rwav file. i’ll try to figure how to convert this in a while
Is there a way to remove the fad? ’cause i’ve got to chain up some pieces and the fad ruin them :\
same problem here with Muscle March NTSC US. 00000004.app has 33MB size, unpacked it with an older version of U8 Tools (the one you have here keeps giving me "Run time error ‘5’:
Invalid procedure call or argument" error on Win7 x64) and just got the following files and no directory…
http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/1730/musclemarch.gif
They are ordered by size, bigger files first on top left. No directory w Stream, no .brstm extensions… I even tried adding .brstm extension to the largest files but nothing happened…
Any ideas?

No error message or anything when I tried to convert BGM_DUN_BOSS1.sad from Shiren 3 to wav.

No error message or anything….
Same here…
Figured it out…the files need to be in the same folder as the bat file. Then double click on it. Should convert after that.
Help?
Also, are any of these tool compatible with Gamecube ripping? I’d like to try getting actual rips – not recordings – of a few games like Donkey Kong Jungle Beat…
Tried to convert a Shiren theme, the file is in the same folder as the .bat, but I only got that message =/
Someone knows if the .sad audio file is supported?

Any chance to unpack them into WAV?
Thanks in advance!
also it’s monster hunter tri. if anyone has this….thanks
ditto…could not move on with BM:Overdrive
like, I want the music from Tree of Tranquility, but it’s not brstm files. they’re dsp files, and I had managed to play them in Winamp… one time. thanks to in_cube http://hcs64.com/in_cube.html
but that was all I managed to do, and now Winamp seems to hate me for some reason… and I dunno how I could get the files to a different format, posting in hopes that someone else might.

Is Winamp not opening now, by chance? When I close Winamp with a file that requires in_cube to play it gives me a black and red error message window and won’t open. I have to take in_cube out of the plugins folder and then start Winamp and choose something else to play, then put the plugin back in. Hope that’s what your problem is and nothing more terrible.
I have been searching like crazy and the only thing I found that could be relevant in some manner is something related to Shenmue that said something about them LOL

I’ve having exactly the same problem, and would really appreciate some guidance. I can’t find the soundtrack anywhere, have tried about 3 different wad ripping programs… I’m at my wit’s end. Any advice?

Can anyone help me out with this? Or just do it for me?

Any chance to unpack them into WAV?
Thanks in advance!
Same here. Trying to get the trb files from de Blob. Please help!!
Has anyone succeeded in ripping MM9-MM10 ? I would really love to know how.

Yeah I have the same problem for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King. The .brsar file that is called "sound.brsar" is only sound effects. I really would like to obtain the music from this game, as the soundtrack doesn’t have in-game music. The music file is nowhere to be found. Please somebody help.
I think you’re missing the point of this thread.

I want to get music without the music loop is repeated several times in the same file, only repeated once and the end does not decrease the audio. How do I get it? (extracted from. bsar files -> rwav files)
Here it is: http://www.filefactory.com/file/3o0i0biv0ggj/n/music_grp_7z
Is it doomed? D:
I’m trying to rip music from My Sims Racing, but I just don’t find any folder that contains the music files. All I find is .str, .sbk and .wii files in different folders. 🙁

aren’t .str music files?
It doesn’t seem so, because no program opens/can convert them. :/
——–
I also have a problem with My Sims audio files. They are .strm files, but no program can convert them, and whenever I open it in any program (like foobar2000) it just sounds like noise.
I tried to extract it, resulting in .MUS files, but the exact same happens. There’s people on Internet that say these also contain more audio data, but I’m not sure of that. I just don’t know what to do anymore. 🙁
Whenever I click on the ‘test’ file, it opens and closes immediately. Even if I download it from different websites.
And I don’t find any ‘convert.bat’ file that works either.

I keep getting this exact same message. It tells me to press any key to continue, but after that the program just disappears. These .adx files are 8 seconds on average and there are a ton of them.
