Well, I’m guessing you won’t be ripping first season since the music is EXACTLY the same as the Japanese? (BTW That is practically unheard of in a 4Kids anime).

Did you check to see if the other series are the same? I don’t know if they also use the original Japanese music.

It’s episode 62, The Battle of the Badge, and it is technically from about the midway point of season 2; it’s the episode where Ash gets his 8th gym badge from Giovanni’s gym after beating Jessie and James for it.

The song I’m looking for is at 15:45-16:50; it’s the battle music that plays right at the beginning of Ash’s battle with Jessie.

thats because it was nintendo’s demand to not alter the BGM as it was reminicent of the gameboy games music, so people could associate it better

Not entirely true. There were plenty of swapped out tunes if you look at the sub vs. dub.

Seriously though, the orchestrations in the Japanese version are beautiful, but the synthesized music in the U. S. versions can be good sometimes, too (especially in the Hoenn seasons).
Regardless, it’s all music that I would kill for.
