Company Goes Bankrupt on Final Fantasy XII Spinoff Project

"To be exact, it was an action game set in the Final Fantasy XII universe. Destructoid first got the word from some anonymous sources, which was then given some substance by the uncovering of resumes and multiple pieces of concept art for an unannounced project called "Fortress." The concept art is awful pretty and the FFXII universe is one of my favorites, so it’s kinda sad to see what could have been and never will be.

According to Destructoid, this project was the one that caused Grin to go under."

Sort of glad this isn’t being made currently.

Handing off Eastern series to Western devs? No thanks. Only Silent Hill seems to have come out okay, though not as great imo. Meanwhile we have some iffy crud on the back burner called Front Mission ‘Evolved’.

I’ve been looking into this project, I hope they are reworking it since I didn’t like the original outsourcing, can’t be it be like Final Fantasy XII? These spinoffs don’t live up to the greatness XII had.

I hope that Square gives the title the hard work it deserves, its grandfather was one of the greatest Final Fantasy games to ever see the light of day.
