Check the ‘Growth’ attributed to the weapon. There are four different categories – None, Normal, Double and Triple. Weapons with ‘None’ or no growth are the ultimate weapons for each character. The majority of weapons in the game have a standard rate of growth whilst a smaller number have double or triple growth. You should notice that not only are the double and triple weapons less frequent, but also contain fewer materia slots on average than weapons with regular growth rate.
