HELLO! I’m new here. Anyways, I noticed that everytime FF1 gets a remake, it loses something that makes it stand out from the it’s successors. The PSX version was great, and had changes to make gameplay more convenient without adding new items. In DOS, the magic system was changed to a more traditional system, and from what I played, the game was easy. The PSP version…someone please explain to me the changes of the PSP version because I never played it.

My point is, each remake of FF1 is not the same FF1 that saved Squaresoft (or whatever they call themselves now). It’s now just a game with "Final Fantasy" written on the box, even it is likely a fun game. What do you think?

Apart from the sprites losing their jagged edges somewhat, and the backgrounds being slightly more detailed, it’s basically a port of Dawn of Souls, with the lame opening movie (the one with the Light Warrior attacking the dragon) from the PSX version thrown in for good measure. In other words, if you already own the GBA version, there is no real reason to buy this.

Still, the PSP version is a good no-brainer for when I’m really bored and have gotten sick of grinding my party on FF Tactics.

PS. Welcome to the Shrine! 🙂

Hi not sure a correct thread for asking suggestion but i don’t want to create a new thread for a mere question.

I just beat psp dawn of souls ff1 a moment ago. I couldn’t find warmech (or whatever it called) and i gave up on bestiary collection. Is Soul of Chaos any good? this is the 2nd ff game that i play, first is ffviii (jap ver and i got nightmare playing it with no clue what is going on oh… and my first console rpg game at that time, the junction and draw system are totally crazy for some noob like me) so i was wondering if the boss dungeon are somewhat a spoiler for me if i want to play the next series of ff. I plan on beating all of the series. (10-20 years late but better than nothing >.<)

I’d make it a new thread for him, but the only question I can see in that wall of verbage is whether or not soul of chaos is any good.

Exactly, those kind of posts are tiring.

If you guys were talking about me, hmm it is just a question if the boss there will be a spoiler for me, thats all, i never ask if Soul of Chaos is good or not good.

I don’t care if my grammar is sucks. English is not my first language. Deal with it.

It is not my fault if there is no consolidated noob question thread here. I am just thinking i don’t want to create redundant thread.

And i am not him.

Thanks for replying.

That would explain it, I suppose. But, you did ask that question. I have bolded it for you.

As far as I can tell you’re asking whether Soul of Chaos spoils other FFs.

Aside from having a few familiar bosses, it does not.

It is a pretty garbled question though, tbh
