Black Hawk Down’s score has been surpassed by people better than Hans Zimmer. But this is where it all began, where the combination of traditional orchestra, ethnic instruments, and rock guitars all combined together for a cohesive assault of power, pain, and emotion, all without sounding cheesy.
This is an excellent OST. If anything, the initial release is too short. Get your hands on the complete score or the sessions if you really want to see how much thought and effort Zimmer put into this score.
It is too bad he has never been able to get back to this masterful level. Even The Dark Knight’s score is little more than noise compared to this.
Still, couldn’t you have uploaded it somewhere OTHER than rapidshare? Rapidshare is slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.
