Yoko Kanno: Space Bio Charge (3 disc compilation album, 2009)

This is the new compilation album from our beloved Yoko Kanno.

Kanno described this set of CDs as �Dramatic�, �Inner�, and �Private�. The �Dramatic� CD, or CD 1 contains mostly orchestra pieces, �Inner� or CD 2 are some of her most anthemic songs. The third CD, which she jokingly called �Private� contains many psychedelic pieces that�s almost a requisite in any Kanno CD. You could easily guess that she called it �Private� because the characteristic of the songs is quite like what you�d expect from someone with a personality like her.

It’s a very good compilation album suitable for those who are only discovering her music (as pretty much all of her musical styles are represented) as well as for old YK dogs.

There are many favorites of mine which didn’t get through, but also as many songs I love and hadn’t even hoped for are present.

Enjoy and if you like the music, go buy it. Yoko’s music is totally worth it!

this was a most deception from her. I’m sick of her SAME songs everywhere. I call all these tracks COMERCIAL MUSIC.
it’s about time she releases some box with songs from the animes she never completed the osts.

at first i was expecting a lot from this album, but then i got a little disappointed
because too many vocals in this album perhaps ?

Kanno’s vocal songs are mesmerising. THere is nothing like this in the west. Stateside, I’ve never heard anything quite as interesting and touching as Kanno’s music. The yankie music system doesn’t allow it.
