Hey I was going to see if anyone could answer me this:
When I ever plug my jump drive into my usb hub or usb ports, it reads it, makes the "ding" and everything, but it wont come up on my desktop (to view files), i cant even get to it when i go to ‘my computer’. I already made sure everything is enabled and it obviously is because its starting up, but i cant get it to come up on my desktop, anyone have any suggestions or help?
Thanks in advance.

I assume you’re using windows. Which version of it do you have on your computer?
Also:
Have you checked the device manager?

make sure your usb port is the right… type for your usb device. usb1 usb2 etc. ive had my ipod look like it SHOULD work but it would never work until I plugged it into a compatible usb slot.

Yes i’m using windows, yes i’ve checked my device manager, and yes its the right type, i’ve been using all the usb ports for last 3 years and now suddenly there not working. When I "put it in" the light on my jump drive comes on and the U3 comes up on my computer screen, just doesnt let me access anything on the drive. I dont know what to do!

This section is for issues related to the forum or site. This should probably be moved to General Discussion.
However, it’s interesting to see this here because I’ve been having USB issues myself. I’ve been having issues with the USB 2.0 on my system, can’t get it to work. Was freezing it up, now it just won’t work. Still working on it…

I have a different problem. My system originally had USB 1.1, but I had it upgraded with add-on USB 2.0 ports. The USB 1.1 still work fine, but with the USB 2.0, my system would completely freeze whenever I inserted anything. I found a solution online and tried it out and now the system no longer freezes, but nothing else happens either. I’m still looking into some other stuff, but it’s beginning to look like something could be fried with the hardware itself…

Well, it’s a really old computer. Or rather, it was a really old computer. Seems that it’s gone dead now. (sigh) Gonna have to get a new one…

Try www.techsupportforum.com — they have good people there, they might be able to help. Yes, that’s where I got the solution for mine from, but my system was old and tired anyway, I’ve been expecting something like this to happen for a long time.
