I searched for this soundtrack here but apparently all their links are dead. Lame… because the 1st Gen soundtrack was my personal favorite!

http://rapidshare.com/files/231584030/PKmon_Red_Blue_OST.rar

All songs are MP3s 128 kbps.
BTW, from what I understand the Yellow soundtrack only has two original tracks in addition to the original R/B soundtrack. Those 2 songs are the Intro and the Surfing Pikachu theme which unfortunately are not included in this upload.

PS: I did not rip this soundtrack. I just googled it and decided to upload it here.

I’m not sure what you mean by tagged.

I just downloaded it – the files have name tags but nothing else. Not hard to add though.

The problem I have is there’s a big echo on all of them. What’s the point? It doesn’t sound good. Will have to look for a different rip…

I’m not an audiophile but I sure do not hear any echo. I haven’t heard any other rips besides the one I uploaded so I don’t really know what it’s "supposed" to sound like.
BTW, what is this "tagging" people keep mentioning? Is that like license tagging or something???

you know… there is always this one: http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/2504

And by tagging, they mean the ID2 or ID3 tags of Winamp, or whatever other programs they use to read these things.

Enqueue something into winamp by right-clicking, dragging it in… or file -> open; right-click it and go down to "File Info". It will pop the ID2 and ID3 tags up

Here it will have a box you can click to turn them on (if not already)
Than… ID2

Title:
Artist(s):
Album:
Year [ ] Genre [ ]
Comment:

ID3 is the same, but offers more information about the CD or rip like:

Composer:
Orig. Artist:
Copyright:
URL: (usually the place downloaded from if there is one).
Encoded by: a place to tag your own name if you are the encoder

I’ve got those rips, and I’m reworking them to conform to the JAPANESE original release; Announcing my intentions to release the original Pocket Monsters games’ music ripped!

Pocket Monsters Red, Green, and Blue (JP). These games have the same music as Red and Blue in the US, since all three were used to create the American versions.

Just compare the opening in the rip to the actual hardware:

It’s easy to notice the huge difference.

Missingno’s sound clip is simply a shorter audio sample of the cry for the male Nidoran.

Yeah, I hear it now. Well, hopefully we get a good upload ASAP because I’d love a high quality R/B soundtrack.

No prob, PH. It’s pretty easy to see why I know this when I used the ol’ Item Duplication cheat in Gen 1 myself.
