I used to visit gamerankings.com regularly as a source for finding new games to play. The feature I found most useful was being able to sort by platform by the highest user rating. I believe the rating system was a 1-10 scale, and it would show the total number of votes and rank the games by the highest average.

A few months ago however, gamerankings.com was bought out or something by gamespot and the layout entirely changed for the worse. In addition, the ranking feature I used so often was removed (as far as I can tell.)

Does anyone know of a similar website that provides a good ranking system for games – one with user votes instead of rankings by magazines/articles?

Is there a way to sort the games by highest user rating on metacritic? It looks like their games can only be ranked by the magazine/article ratings, but not by user ratings.

Individual critic ratings, magazine articles, website coverage and many other sources are all collectively weighed by Metacritic to form the resident score of any form of media featured on the site.

About the Metacritic Score
http://www.metacritic.com/about/scoring.shtml

A quick perusal of the site reveals the features you are looking for, in a list option in the search bar for ranking items from the highest to lowest scores with another filter for specifying which console.

Perhaps you might try showing your brain some use every once in awhile? Though I honestly don’t know what I expect from someone who appears to put the charge of their finances so reliantly on any critical review centre.

Perhaps you should try showing your own brain some use by re-reading my original post and my subsequent one.
I’m not looking for game rankings by critic ratings, magazine articles, nor website coverage. I’m looking for a ranking by user (player) votes, which you still haven’t provided.

Really, I appreciate responses, but if you’re only going to make sarcastic remarks that serve no purpose but to display your own ineptitude, please go back to the rock you crawled out from under.

Q: Are user votes included in the METASCORE calculations?

A: No. While we solicit votes from our site visitors on movies, games, and music, we do not include those votes in the METASCORE. The METASCORE is a weighted average of the published critic reviews contained in the chart on that page, and thus does not include any votes or comments from our users. However, you may see the average user vote by glancing at the user comments section below the chart of reviews on every page

Fortunately Metacritic does not rely on an anonymous user voting system. I assume this is to preserve the integrity of the scores each game receives from influence by the great unwashed masses. If this isn’t the type of site you are looking for, then I apologise for wasting your time.
