the main themes for sa2 and sa1 wer good. his world is awesome. emerald hill, green hill, scrap brain, escape from the city, etc. sonic games have great music, so it’s hard to name all of my faves

While some people hate it, I LOVE the Sonic CD _US_ soundtrack (as I like Spencer Nilsen’s work). I also like many of the original tracks from Sonic 1-3. I don’t much like the music used in his newer (3D) games though… especially the vocal ones.

Sonic Adventure – Skydeck (my fav) Red Hot Skull, Run Through the Speed Highway, Chaos 0,2,4 ver.
Sonic Adventure 2 – Masters of the Desert, Highway in the Sky, Won’t Stop Let’s Go!, Rhythm and Balance.
Sonic Heroes – Egg Fleet, Mystic Mansion, Bullet Station, any boss theme, Final Fortress.
Sonic Unleashed – Boss Battle – Day, Cool Edge – Night

I could list a lot more but better keep small.

High five! Spencer Nilsen’s work was fantastic and very underrated. It’s probably one of my favourite soundtracks of all (Stardust Speedway Bad Future stays one of my favourite songs after all those years).

The soundtracks up till Sonic Adventure 2 (and even a bit of ShadowTH and Heroes) are still quite good thanks to Jun Senoue’s great compositional skills, but after Sonic Rush, Riders and Sonic 2006 it all went downhill IMO. So much earbleeding tracks…

"Gun Fortress" from Shadow The Hedgehog. What an amazing blend of subtle electronica and melancholic jazz. I don’t think I’ve heard a single level music that sounds like this Senoue masterpiece.

That one track that plays as you follow the little bright light into the temple, in the mystic ruins, right before the Tricky Maze (in Sonic Adventure)…..yeah. That’s a nice composition. 🙂

Lately, I can’t get enough of Hang Castle from Sonic Heroes. A lot of the others I like (and there’s a whole lot) have been said already.

First off, only Sonic 1 and 2 have outstanding music. The rest blow. This is my opinion but this opinion is fucking gospel so, believe in it!

Anyway the boss theme and Spring Yard Zone in Sonic 1 and Chemical Plant in Sonic 2.

Oh come on!! The music in Sonic 3 is just as good as the first 2. Personally I think sonic 1 had the weakest music of the three, although it has some good ones. I really like them all though, I’m just saying I like 2 and 3 more. That being said, I really enjoy the special stage theme of sonic 1, chemical plant zone and aquatic ruin zone of sonic 2, and death egg zone as well as Chrome gadget among others from sonic 3.

For the actual gameplay, I would choose the first 2 over the third sonic.

I love all Sonic The Hedgehog music but if I have to choose one, then it has to be from Sonic and Knuckles: Lava Reef Zone 1.

For me it`s really difficult to select the best one because i really love almost every song from the 16-bit era but if i have to chose one it would be between Chrome Gadget (sadly it was use only in the vs mode), Hydrocity Act 2 and Chemical Plant.
