Plok! – Beach
Kirby Super Star Ultra – Sea Stage
Spyro 2 – Ocean Speedway
Crash Bash – Beach Ball (I think it counts)
Wario Land Shake – Creep Blue Sea
Those are first one that come to mind when I think "water".
I hadn’t heard this one before, so I checked it out. Here’s (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ODKKILZiYY) a link for those interested. Interesting piece.
It’s probably the less "creepy" one of the lot.
That’s a good soundtrack (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFmRSo75-84) on the whole. And also interesting because some of the music for the levels is surprisingly atypical for the game’s genre. Tracks like "Final Frontier," "Welcome," "Short Cuts," "Desert Storm," etc. sound like they could have been on The Dig soundtrack (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=5863D320C7E51063&search_query=the+dig+soundtrack). But that’s not what you’d expect in a platformer/shmup.
By the way, we were just talking about this on the "What’s Wrong with Video Game Music?" thread found here (Thread 65324), which is why soundtracks that defy expectations are on my mind.
More:
"Dive Into The Mellow…For Aquatic Mine" – Sonic Adventure 2
"Watery Grave" – Ragnarok Online
"Aquatic Base Level 1" – Sonic The Hedgehog 2006
"Aquatic Base Level 2" – Sonic The Hedgehog 2006
"Water Music" – Super Donkey Kong
"Tidal Tempest – Bad Future" – Sonic CD US version AKA Spencer Nilsen
"Temple of Water" – Arc The Lad Generation
"Level 8" – Unreal Tournament 2004
"Hourglass Caves" – Blinx The Time Sweeper
the whole "Ecco The Dolphin CD" soundtrack, by Spencer Nilsen
the whole "X-Com: Terror From The Deep" soundtrack, for creepy aquatic themes
I had only heard the Ragnarok Online 2 soundtrack, so I checked this out. As far as I saw, only a remix was available on YouTube, found here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y76lJhoKBd8).
P.S. Since I started with the second Ragnarok soundtrack, I was surprised to see that Yoko Kanno did not compose the first one. Ragnarok 1 was done primarily by a group of people called SoundTeMP.

I’ve uploaded the original song for you: http://www.speedyshare.com/657534658.html
It’s much more upbeat compared to that remix.
They had some exceptionally well composed tracks in the first RO, aside some filler tracks (as with all big games I suppose).
^^This.

The best part of the song begins at roughly 44 seconds into it IMO.
Also, the link below leads to some great sounding remixes for the Aquatic Ruin stage from Sonic 2. I think these were made the intention of being used for the fanmade sonic2HD game currently in development.

Ugh, some of those tracks sound like they’ve just ran a midi of the song through some software synths… Really takes almost no effort to do except for finding good percussion sounds.
Speaking of actual remixes, housethegrate’s godlike remix of Hydrocity Zone: http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01527/
THAT’s how you do a remix.

*sighs*
Opinions…don’t you love ’em?
Anyways, for the sake of the project they’re working on, they didn’t want the remixes to sound too different. In fact, they were going more so for remastered music as oppose to remixed music. So in that sense, it’s my fault for initially labeling those tracks as "remixes" in the first place.

My apologies, I didn’t know they didn’t want to sound too different from the original songs.

Any and all water themes are welcome whether or not they belong in a SCUBA session. But great job with your list, keep up the good work, and check my other posts, we could use your music tastes on them.
Thanks,
-The Dude-
Agreed. I’m just listening to that soundtrack now. I tend to set aside Genesis music if there’s something else I want to listen to, but so far I’m digging this. "Break Silence" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPvX7zwLu6w) is also a good piece.
P.S. Add "Water" from Dune: Spice Opera (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MW3JVXe-SfM) to my list.
looking into my gamers past (since 1982) i found an amazing track from Donkey Kong Country OST… Aquatic Ambience (the water stage) i was young when i played that stage (1994) 😀

Now for some others not mentioned yet:
Final Fantasy I – Ocean Shrine

(Hilariously enough in beta versions of the game the stage is called Generic Water Level)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpSI4Imc-t8 Air Zonk- Level 4 (Bubble Marine)
Starts pretty subdued, unlike most of the soundtrack, but works itself into a frenzy. Very interesting for a water level song, in my opinion.
