Spamming the "reply" button

I love this site, but there’s one thing that really gets to me,
You see I have my preferences set so that i receive an e-mail upon receiving a reply to one of my posts however people have found it easier to just click reply on anyone’s posts to post a message.

It’s quite irritating i receive like 30 e-mails a day because of this crap and i don’t want to be forced to change my settings because of it.

Maybe someone should sticky a thread about this, just to get the word out there so people use the appropriate way of adding a message to threads.

Whether you post a reply or a quick reply, you still get an email saying there has been a new message posted in a thread you’re subscribed to.

I’m using quick reply to type this message now and you should receive your email shortly.

I don’t think so, i mean some of the threads i return too have some where around 30 posts but i don’t see 30 e-mails.

Plus it’s not always the person right underneath me that i get from, it’s usually from someone from the next page.

Do you think it could just be some kind of error?

I’m gonna go change that setting now.. 🙁

That is because you are subscribed to the threads you recieve emails from, and not subscribed to threads you don’t get emails from.
