Looks pretty good. In Nintendo Power, they called it a "sequel" to the Umbrella Chronicles. In addition, they are going to release Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 around the release of this game for the Wii as well.
Me being an avid RE fan, I’ll probably buy it even it does suck. But I enjoyed RE:UC, so I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy this game as well.
[As a side note: Nintendo Power also had a cover story for "Silent Hill: Shattered Memories". I can’t say I was too impressed with where they’re taking this game. But who knows… it may be worth renting or something.]
Just my speculation though.
btw,
re 1 and 0 on wii are copypasta ports of their gamecube counterparts.
the only thing that changed is the camera angle.
and in 5, you can strafe.
classic RE games:
up: move up
down: move backwards
left: turn left
right: turn right
re4/5:
up: move up
down: move backwards
left: turn left/strafe
right: turn right/strafe
0-CVX: Up moves the character forward regardless of orientation on screen
4 and 5: Up moves the character up the screen regardless of orientation.
The first is 3D control, and it has you pressing a button that is counterintuitive half the time you are playing. Meaning you are hitting right to go left, etc.
The second is 2D. You press the dirction on the screen that you want the character to go.
3D controls is counterintuitive and puts you into the hands of monsters repeatedly. 2D is logical.
a 3d control is that of, say, super mario 64.
wherever you press the stik, mario will move forward to that directions.
on a 2d control, you need to move yourcharacter on the desidre directon and then press up.
which just so happnes to be the exact same cxontrol for every RE game.
even survivor.
"move in the desired direction and then press up"
Good lord, Catty
any RE fan knows the controls are the same for all games, only the camera angle is different
I didn’t come up with those two labels.
lol, guess I wasn’t done talking.
2d being the classic RE controls, and 3d being that of super mario 64.
;-;
resident evi outbreak (and ob2):
it has both control styles:
tank controls on the pad, and 3d controls on the left stick, where you move the stick, your character will move forward that way.
having played re5 before unplugging the 360 and plugging the ps2 to play outbreak 2 (gota love me sum yoko C in the end of the road) and i can tell you re5 has the same controls as the pad, ie, tank controls.
i will further explain on this when theres some day light.
its 3 AM here and putting different systems makes a lot of noise
i know im right because this isnt the first time people complain about the "control change", since re4.
many people aside from me have explained countless times that the only difference is the camera angle.
hell, even that static camera mod for re4 proves it has tank controls.
2D is not the "classic" RE control scheme, 3D is.
When you think of 2D movement, think of how you move in a Zelda game. Whatever direction you press is the direction Link faces. Apply that principle to a 3D environment. The new Ninja Gaidens, Devil May Crys, Silent Hill 4, and Metal Gear Solids exemplify 2D control in a 3D environment.
Classic RE uses "tank" controls, so-called because the character controls like a tank, which must orient itself by turning in circles before it can move in a desired direction.
RE4 definitely makes use of tank. Cat’s right; the only difference there is camera placement. Sure, it’s improved by the user friendly camera, but it’s absolutely tank. Pressing left/right doesn’t do anything but spin you right round like a record, baby. 2D controls would actually move you left or right.
RE5 however controls more like a standard standard shooter since it’s built to control player movement on dual axes. You could try to call it tank, but I’d say strafing refutes that most effectively.
:evilmoogle:
Here’s to both of us being partially right.
its the little bastards that birkin shoves down someones throat and then they get really big.
was a mid boss in re2, was a boss in below freesing point in the first outbreak game.
seems to be a boss in DSC.
Playstation Network needs to release it as a download already.
but im sure other people here didnt know about this.
also, manuela is cute.
javier is bad ass.
