Final Fantasy XIII Demo Tracks

Few tracks from FF XIII Demo (and two from website I think). Found it on mininova, so if U use torrents, than go there, if not here’s rapidshare link – only 10 downloads.

This is the 3rd or 4th "release" I see about the FINAL FANTASY XIII demo disc songs. The three are the same but recorded in different quality, and one of them has more presence of FXs than the others. All of them have different lengths too…

This one you shared with us through those links, includes the 4 tracks of one of the other recordings I’ve (so the credit for this is more to Andrew Evenstar than Nokutisu) but it also includes 2 recordings of 2 other songs but at better quality and two bonus tracks that as you said, may be from video recordings not related to the demo/trial disc.

I even know a 4th recording (but that one is just of 2 tracks) that have the best quality for the Boss & Battle songs, but not the other 2 tracks… so I really hope that a serious person in audio do a 5.1 or 7.1 audio codification to lossless format through optical link, all as a single "release" with CRC codes, as the FINAL FANTASY XIII Trial Disc deserves.

One of the better examples I may give you is his work in FINAL FANTASY X with Junya Nakano and Nobuo Uematsu. Priceless.

His name is Masashi Hamauzu, and he’s probably most well known for composing SaGa Frontier 2, Unlimited Saga, and FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus, as well as contributing to FFX, as Aero mentioned.

So far, the music in the demo reminds me a lot of Dirge of Cerberus, which is a good thing IMO since DoC had an excellent soundtrack. In particular, the battle themes in DoC were top notch, and so far it looks like FFXIII’s will follow suit.

05 – Underworld (Hanged Edge – Restricted Area)
06 – Battle Theme (Abridged Version)
07 – Purge (Cutscene)
08 – Patriotic (Hanged Edge – Resistance Front)

The first two tracks are ripped from the Japanese website (better quality and to avoid sound effects during the opening movie), and everything else is from the demo, utilizing the pause screen to remove sound effects and background ambience (which is how I was able to get the cutscene music). Tracks 3-8 all loop and fade out properly. The only things missing are the trailer that plays before the main menu and the music from the ending CG cutscene, as they can’t be ripped without significant sound effects.

The tracks are numbered according to the order they first appear in the demo, and the titles are based off in-game dialogue.

the best RPG of best!

I liked the original version in which the songs were at their full length. If anybody needs it, just notice me (if Lian_Kazairl doesn’t have it now).

I’m getting used to the Boss Battle theme quite quickly. I think it’ll fit greatly those battles in the game. I really hope a good soundtrack like the one for Final Fantasy X, since for me it does more than the 50% for the game. Purge (Cutscene), may be a proof of that quality =]

Thank you SO MUCH for this! I randomly saw the battle song and boss battle on youtube and fell in love. Having all of these other tracks is wonderful!

I’m no huge Hamauzu fan, but this affirms my hope in him. Thanks for the rip. Just curious, does anyone know what format the sound is in on the demo, i.e. 5.1 or 7.1 surround, 48 or 96kHz or what?

I’m afraid I can’t re-upload my rip (though someone else might be able to) because I deleted the files once the soundtrack came out. Of course, all of the music on that rip can be found in higher quality on the soundtrack, but some of the tracks don’t loop (and the main battle theme on the OST is the abridged version). Fortunately, I extended some of the tracks using a lossless copy of the soundtrack (and the PLUS album) so that they loop properly. I’ve uploaded all of the tracks I extended that were on my demo rip here (http://www.mediafire.com/file/47d095ctbsamj2g/FFXIII Select Tracks.rar) (in VBR MP3 format). There were also a few other tracks I extended using the same process, so if anyone is interested I can upload those as well.
