Thanks very much for the share. I was pleasantly surprised by the movie, but the score bothered me a lot. There were multiple times where it took me out of the film because of how synthy it sounded, which was completely at odds with a film about vikings. The shields scene was particularly victimized by the score, with the cue sounding like a clone of Pirates of the Caribbean. Typically I’m not bothered by Zanelli. He has moments of greatness, but usually just churns out run-of-the-mill RCP action stuff. On this, I don’t know if he was hampered by a limited budget or a short schedule, but ultimately I felt the score actually hurt the film, instead of improving it.
