Basically, this is a gamerip of the Gitaroo Man soundtrack, ripped straight from the game with the assistance of a tool developed by Ukurere who has been working on hacking the game.

I tried to make it as complete as possible, including multiple cuts that I thought would be the most relevant or interesting. I’ve included every possible phrase for each song, to include both endings; I’ve included backing tracks with and without the gitaroo battles; I’ve included the gitaroo battles without backing tracks; and I’ve included the dialog and sound effects tracks, both on their own and with the music playing. I’ve even split them up so you can be selective about what you want to download, although I highly recommend anybody who’s interested to get the Music Only set. This set also includes menu music and a weird little tune I found hidden on the disc, which are not included in the other sets.

I should point out that this is Gitaroo Man, not Gitaroo Man Lives. This set doesn’t include Toda Pasion, Metal Header, or the english version of Flyin’ To Your Heart. I also don’t have the means to get audio from FMV sequences, so there’s no 21st Century Boy or Soft Machine. If I ever get those, however, I’ll be sure to update.

Well, first of all, I love the music in Gitaroo Man, so thanks for that 🙂

But, when I try to unzip the file, it says "Operation Not Permitted". 🙁

That’s strange… what program are you using to unzip it? I used 7zip when I made the archives.

Also, did the file download completely? They are rather big and something might have interrupted the download before it completed. For references, the files should be these sizes:

Music Only – 128 MB (135,008,600 bytes)
Backing Only – 98.4 MB (103,259,678 bytes)
Full Mixes – 72.5 MB (76,077,336 bytes)
Gitaroo Only – 268 MB (282,066,479 bytes)
SFX Only – 86.0 MB (90,199,717 bytes)

on the subject, i’ve been posting a series of youtube videos of me playing U-1s guitar part which i’ve worked out. There doesn’t seem to be anything like it (other than the legendary theme) so, have a look, also i’ll do tutorials! 🙂

Well, feel free to use it if you want. I’d probably recommend using Audacity to mix the backing track and the Gravillian Gitaroo Only track, then play along with that.

I’ve actually been wanting to do something similar, which was my main motivation for doing this rip.

Well, I WAS using "BOMArchive Helper" for my MacBook, but then I downloaded that 7zip you mentioned before and it worked fine, so it was the program afterall.

Both versions of the tracks where interesting to listen to. However, is The Full Mixes is what in Music Only file is Both A and B in one file? Appreciated for the rip though. One of the PS2’s greatest osts. 🙂

Full mixes are just the A version. Since the music for the B version has the gravillian winning and the sound effects only play in single player where the gravillian loses, it didn’t make sense to include a full mix for the B version.

this one doesnt have the alternate version of bee jam blues does it? Perhaps that ones only on the psp version?

By any chance does this version of the soundtrack include the master versions of the tracks? I’ve been looking all over for them, but most people attempting them in-game on youtube tend to miss a lot of notes, which skews the music a bit, and I’m not exactly perfect at them, myself. 😛

I’m looking for re-upload as well, mostly for the backing tracks. Tried to rip it myself, but was getting audio skips and sync issues with MFAudio.

Because finding the ordinary soundtrack to this is game is easy-enough through youtube with a video downloader, but searching for a "complete" rip like this will fetch you about two forum posts like this one through Google, and all of them have dead links, unfortunately.

in this case,no i have only the music,i deleted other tracks (136) they were just some Japanese voices as i remember!!?if this is the ps2 game rip it might have more than the psp version witch i have.
