OK. Am I tripping, or was this track from The Neverending Story Complete Soundtrack (uploaded by protium21) also used in Resident Evil 2?

Listen to it.

17 The Three Magic Gates.mp3 – 6.02MB (http://www.zshare.net/audio/54208985786697f3/)

I was listening to TNS Complete Soundtrack, and this track here seemed very familiar to me for some reason. Then I started thinking real hard about where I heard it from, and it hit me. It’s from a Resident Evil game.

Now, I haven’t played the game, nor seen that movie in a long time. But if my memory serves me correct, this music kicks in when you find that platform car that lowers you down into Umbrella’s Lab (and where you have another fight with the G-Virus monster), in RE2.

Am I right, or am I tripping? lol

By the way, apologies if this has already been discussed.

It’s not the same exact track, but it sounds like it? I’m assuming you’ve checked the RE2 OST to confirm this, correct?

Either way, this had me lol’ing.

I’d have to hear the RE2 song you mentioned as I don’t know what that one sounds like. I love when these kind of comparisons come up though.

I’ll see about uploading the particular RE2 track in question for you, LiquidOcelot. Unless, tofu beats me to it.

I listened to that song and you’re right, it is similar but not that similar. The Resident Evil 2 song in question is called "The Marshaling Yard (The Latter Half)" which just so happens to be my favourite piece of music from any RE game.

The song has a bit of history behind it too as it was one of the few songs carried over to the final version of RE2, originally the song was to be used in allot of areas at the police station but after scrapping the original version of RE2 (now known as Resident Evil 1.5), it got replaced. So it became a song only used in 1 "room", the Marshaling Yard platform in the final version of the game.
