For those who were wondering, the arrange album is totally not some lame higher quality sampling. It has quite a bit of difference to it.

I don’t know whether I should rejoice or complain that the soundtrack consists of mainly VP1 songs. On one hand those tracks are amazing, but on the other I would have liked a whole new OST with awesome compositions. Ah well.

Just got done listening to the OST and found one oddity. While 95% of the tracks are VP1 songs, they are all rearranges with different quality synths. The weird thing is that some are better quality than the originals, mainly the slow tracks, but the majority are of worse quality.

My first guess would be that the DS just doesn’t have the capability to produce better than PS1 sounds, but how then were the other tracks improved? Storage issue maybe?

Hopefully I’m not sounding like I’m complaining/angry. Confusion is really what I’m feeling. Anyone have any thoughts/knowledge on this?

the thing that bugs me the most on portable games that motoi composes is that the high hat and other cymbals are generally absent except for the crash cymbal. it HAS to be a hardware/storage issue.
