Valkyria Chronicles

With all these games coming out this season, one can get pretty overwhelmed. Seems to me though…this one has been forgotten amidst all the big name releases.

I’ve been waiting for this game and I finally bought it yesterday. Let’s just say….I’m up to chapter 5 and the story, characters, and gameplay has me greatly entertained.

Anybody get this game? If so, what do you think of it so far?

It looks weird.

Looks cool, I think mixing the entire comic book look with war seems fun.

Played the demo, tried to find it in my local retail stores, and nobody had it.

Ordered it from newegg and now I’m left wondering if I will think it’s worth it. How long would an average player take to beat this game on their first time through?

I thought this game would receive more buzz what with the generally stellar reviews (http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/valkyriachronicles). I guess this one goes down as under-hyped/under-appreciated.

So far I’ve put 25hrs into it without counting the times I had to retry a mission. I think I’m up to the last one now though.

It’s definitely has a lot of challenging missions and a few points where you’ll just want to turn it off and try again the next day, which I’ve done.

I’ve enjoyed the story so far and the way they present them. And of course…the art style is a major draw.

It’s a shame this game isn’t talked about that often. SEGA finally released something very good.

This is one of the best games I’ve played, contending with FFTactics..and I’m ridiculously hard for that game. Even features a soundtrack composed by Hitoshi Sakomoto (of FFTactics and Ogre Battle fame).

I can’t recommend this enough. You owe it to yourself to try the demo, at least.

Continuing from my last post:

Well it turns out that I had about 10 more hours of gameplay and NOW I’m up to the final mission, which is a total pain in the arse. So those of you wondering this title’s length,expect to put in about 30 hrs or more.

I don’t even have a PS3, I don’t plan on getting one either. It’s pretty low on my list of most wanted systems right now. This is my list of most wanting gaming systems.

I’m surprised I don’t see a 360 in that list…then again I don’t have one either.

i have this game.
after playing about five hours, I can say that it’ a wonderfull game. Sure the story takes a bit to get going but other than that I love it, especially the soundtrack.

Makes me glad I picked this up when I did.

Also, I’m glad this game got so many awards. Yet sales figures are still kinda low lol. Did better in Japan OF COURSE.

My copy just arrived in the mail. I have no PS3 though, lol. Should be getting one in a couple of weeks.

DLC is on it’s way. Don’t know when but itsa comin’.

2 new missions and an EX Hard Mode.

Sega has announced that three DLC packs will be made available for the game, including two new missions and an extra hard mode. The hard mode challenges you to play through the game again without the Edelweiss — your tank and most powerful unit.

The other two packs add new missions to play through, with one allowing you to take control of the enemy as you see the war from their side.

DLC is out. I’m gonna be trying it out soon. Hopefully it’s worth the money.

I’ve completed Valkyria chronicles, and I have to admit, it’s right up there with my favourite games of all time. I won’t supply a list.

Hey guys, Valkyria Chronicles anime is airing in Japan. It’s up to episode 5 right now. The animantion is not up to par with the PS3 version, but I’m still enjoying it.

ALSO: If you can only pick one DLC to get then I suggest getting Selvaria’s mission, "Behind Her Blue Flame". Really great add~

I think you can cut a system from your list. Wii will play gamecube games. Surprised you didn’t know that lol.
