The Landing is my favorite out of these.
And The Extreme.
Best three tracks in the entire game.
Liberi Fatali is the most overrated song in Final Fantasy history. O:
‘Those Who Fight Further’ (VII). Overrated song from an overrated game.
It can be heard here as uploaded by some dedicated fan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czn2_ngX6_k
EDIT: Tally? Are we supposed to be keeping track of something?

"Never Look Back" (What other RPG would this song work in? Perfect for FF8.)
"Only a Plank Between One and Perdition" (I like danger/escape themes a lot… hehe)
"The Extreme" (I’ll take this over Dancing Mad and One-Winged Angel any day.)
"Timber Owls" (I bet this didn’t even cross anyone else’s mind. I tend to like some of the more underappreciated themes, I guess… I love it. 😀 )
Of these, my favorite is probably "Man With the Machine Gun".

Balamb Garden.
The Extreme.
And more.
Of what? Considering The Black Mages were created by Uematsu, they don’t really sound that much different except some electric guitars.
I know, I have all their shit (got it from a torrent).
I also have heard some negative things about the Black Mages.
# The Landing
# Waltz For The Moon
# Force Your Way

Subjectively speaking, it’s a masterpiece in this respect (then again, I suppose that’s because I haven’t lost the childlike wonder of and love for this game).
Silence and Motion
The Oath
Ami
Breezy
Roses and Wine
Julia
These are without a doubt some of the best songs I have ever heard.
Also, I’m listening to Silence And Motion now, it reminds me of Steampunk for some reason.. >_>

Man with the Machine Gun
The Man With the Machine Gun
Force Your Way
Never Look Back (but it did get annoying at times)
The Stage is Set
The Extreme
Julia
Compression of Time
Don’t take me wrong though, it has great tracks that fit in the game and it’s mood,
but aren’t really the style I like to listen.
However, there are some tracks that I do like.
The songs like Ami, Breezy and My Mind have relaxing and calm melodies,
which I happen to like.
I said that the OST doesn’t have many tracks that fits my style,
but there are exceptions though.
Martial Law and Mods De Chocobo are that styled tracks I like.
However, the best track in my opinnion is this soundtrack is Find Your Way,
I just love themysterious feeling it gives.
Amen.
Don’t Be Afraid
Blue Fields
Fisherman’s Horizon
But, here’s a few of my particular favourites:
Overture (a clever tip-of-the-hat to Ravel’s Bolero)
Liberi Fatali
Don’t Be Afraid/Victory Fanfare
Find Your Way
SeeD
The Landing
Dance With the Balamb Fish
Waltz for the Moon
The Mission
The Man With the Machine Gun
Under Her Control
The Stage is Set
Fithos Musec Wecos Vinosec/Succession of Witches
Movin’
Mods de Chocobo
Silence and Motion
The Castle
The Legendary Beast (of all the FF tracks I’m still waiting for an orchestral arrangement this one is at the top of my list ;)).
The Extreme
Ending Theme (as pretty as [i]Eyes on Me is, the song is basically about Laguna so it’s completely irrelevant where and when it appears during the scene on the Ragnarok. I think it worked far better as part of the game’s ending, a beautiful track that was quite poignant as well.
Even though FFVIII’s OST is not my favourite of Uematsu’s works, (I prefer the FFVI and IX OSTs myself), but it’s still a beautiful soundtrack all the same. 😀
Good choices 🙂 Welcome to the forums bro.
Thanks i’m really glad i found this forum 😀
Liberi Fatali
Force Your Way
Breezy
Shuffle And Boogie
Martial Law
Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec
The Salt Flats (love it)
Silence And Motion
Resident (TOTALLY)
Eyes On Me (Definite like)
Lunatic Pandora (class)
Compression Of Time
The Extreme (possibly my favourite)
The Castle
Ending Theme (I love this one so much. Contender for favourite)
And tht’s all. 😉
Then Breezy. I guess the laid-back peacefulness is what I love about it.
The other tracks I like most I prefer out of the Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec album, where most of them are orchestrated so nicely, but I still prefer the two above by a wide margin.

FFVIII – Galbadian Biker – YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sPHW-Z_FbQ)
Sorry, video doesnt appear to be working
The video works for me, and the song is called The Landing (about 50 seconds into it, actually), which first plays when Squall, Zell, Quistis, and Seifer arrive at the Dollet beach. Apparently, the fact that gives it’s playing when the Galbadians are launching from their garden to Balamb garden give the song’s title a dual-reference. Interesting.
Ahah! Thank you! I must have added about 200 views to all the FF8 OSTs on Youtube, and it was hidden 50 seconds into The Landing (which, I must state, I did also like)! I definitely like the dual meaning too, and the entire fight is one of the most awesome I have ever seen (you can see the rest of the fight on this channel MattWensley1992 (http://www.youtube.com/user/MattWensley1992)). The way you can watch a different part of the screen and see a different part of the entire fight! Quite a bit like the final Harry Potter film.
Anyway, thanks again!
