Similarities between FF13’s and previous games

I know that not much information has been released yet about FFXIII and FFXIII versus, but those of you who have been following the interviews/trailers, I have a question for you.

Which of the two FFXIII games do you think will most resemble previous Final Fantasy games like FF7, FF8, FF10?

From what little i’ve seen of them, it seems to me that FFXIII will be more similar to older FF’s. As for versus, I don’t know… maybe something on the order of Dirge of Cerberus?

XIII’s recycled characters looked a lot like FF8. THAT, and it looks way too shiny. You know, glowing lights on every including uniforms and unnecessary items. Looks more like Phantasy Star or Star Ocean.

Versus looks like FF7’s setting (gothic and more modern era) mated with Kingdom Hearts’ concept on friendship. The more trailers and info that comes out about it doesn’t hype me up like I had originally thought it would.

just as Stevo said, XIII reminds me of VIII [III? xD], it’s brighter and all, but the concept… in the trailer they talk about humans!, the character aren’t humans!! so I don’t know, I have big spectations for the storyline!

it also reminds me of X [being VIII my favourite Final Fantasy ever followed by X, lol]

and Versus XIII reminds of VII, a darker game overal

Agito XIII gets me an image of Final Fantasy XII, or something along the lines

It’s nice to see a female lead for a change though… (remembers Terra)

Hopefully she won’t whine as much as Terra…

I just played FF6 within the past week. In my translation she was all boohoo-ing over what love "actually IS!?" in the first half of the game. You know, the normal teen hormones that all FF characters exhibit in the beginning. :-\

So yeah, she didn’t whine even once during the whole game.
She was kind of confused the whole time though.

As far as Lightning is concerned, she doesn’t seem to be the whiny type either. In fact, she seems to be the badass, no compromise type. Which I love. 🙂
