Yeah, my point was quite unclear. But to be more clear; Both franchises are overrated. Saw should have given up the ghost after 3. The first 2 are watchable, but after that. It plummeted downhill, with a very heavy momentum.

HSM..don’t get me started. I remember seeing bits of the first one on TV and thinking it was some kind of joke! I didn’t get it one bit. And when I learned more about it, I saw why.

Meh, I know, it’s not exactly something I have high hopes for happening. Number two is good enough for me, but the fact that I actually care about the franchise makes it more worth buying at midnight.

When you actually get past the over the top terror scenes, the Saw series of movies have a pretty good story going for itself.

But anyway, this movie was fucking awesome. If you’re a fan of the franchise, and hated part 4, SEE THIS, it makes 4 look like a joke.

The only issue I had was that you have to have seen all of them for it to make sense. I was shocked at some of the stuff from past movies they went out of their way to allude to.

Also… the twists were really clever, though unfortunately, without spoiling anything, don’t expect anything groundbreaking. Kind of like in Saw III, it was more about the surprise of what HAPPENS rather than the twist. "You Won’t Believe How It Ends"… meh, going out of the way for a tagline like that, I guess it’s okay. The twists mainly pertained to the film itself rather than the whole series.

AMAZING character development, no lifeless boring shit that was 4. Also the main storyline is kind of like Saw II but better.

As for High School Musical, not only do I plan on not seeing it, I’m telling other people not to see it. Not that’ll make a difference, but I’m really pissed off at the commercial that says "If you liked Hairspray or Mamma Mia!, you’ll definitely love this!" or something.

Okay. Hairspray was about racism in the 60’s and Mamma Mia! was FULL of sexual tension. So I’m guessing the new HMS is about people being racist to Zac Effron’s always-in-the-shadows friend and people stripping down to swimsuits and rubbing up against each other. Or the commercial is full of shit.

Um, you know there IS a Saw video game coming out next year actually, to be released in conjunction with Saw VI in Oct 2009.
It’s more based on the first one, it’s made by the original writers and director of Saw (who both quit the movies after Saw III). I’m looking forward to this, though not much is known about it, it’s hard to imagine how you can make a video game out of Saw.
