Fable II Original Soundtrack (http://www.sendspace.com/file/kjfl23)
I feel the exact same way. The soundtrack seems far tamer and less attractive than the first Fable which had lots of great pieces. This one is alot more mellow i suppose, guess I’ll get used to it once it comes out for the PC (Can’t wait for that lol)
Bowerlake seems to be the only unique and special track out of all the other ones. Also, I noticed that this time around, there is way more use of pizzicato
The main theme really fell short and doesn’t give as much impact as the first one, what happened to Danny Elfman? maybe he didn’t do the main theme this time around, the cover says Fable 1 theme composed by Danny Elfman though…
EDIT: The OST will be released on November 25th.

Well, Bowerlake is an awesome track 🙂

Glad to hear, hopefully the rest of the soundtrack doesn’t disappoint.
My mistakes, I thought what was uploaded was the promo, since the official release was still a month off. But this IS the actual soundtrack, if Amazon’s tracklist is to be trusted.
A disappointment – none of the wonderful battle themes were released! This is absolutely uncalled for. Ah well, I suppose we will just have to wait until somebody does a complete rip of the inevitable PC version.
The pause menu music is a slightly redone version of the track Temple of Light from the original Fable.
Been playing for a few days now and I gotta say I like this soundtrack even more than the one from the first part!
That little altered main theme part, that’s played by the magic music box in the inro, is just so lovely.
I miss those fabolous pieces from the arcade game Fable 2 Pub Games. Those were also in Fable 2, but hard to find. Love those tracks. Has anyone got them?
As for the score, it *is* a bit of a disappointment when compared to Fable. Russell Shaw really chanelled vintage Elfman for that score – some of the loveliest Elfmanesque music since Edward Scissorhands. In Fable II, we have a strange sense of lacking – just as Elfman’s style matured away from his Edward Scissorhands techniques, so Shaw’s interpretation of it has, also.
In an interview, he claims to have tried to move away from melody, and be more atmospheric. Instant death for music, in most cases – one of Fable’s greatest strengths were undoubtedly the melodies – and here, we have an awful lot of ambience, and not a lot else.
I still like it, but it’s not the masterpiece that Fable was.
Also – I wish people would stop crediting Danny Elfman for this damn thing. Elfman wrote the main theme – that’s track 1 for the original Fable, and that IS ALL. He did nothing new for Fable II – his only involvement is where Shaw (infrequently) quotes his original theme. The only real reason Elfman’s name is on this thing is that more people will probably buy it because they recognise Elfman”s name, but they don’t recognise Shaw’s.
Russell Shaw (a fine composer) wrote every other theme, and every other composition in both games. 🙂
Thanks for posting – I actually bought (as in, paid for, from Sumthing Digital) this, and to be honest I wish I hadn’t!
Whereas in Fable 2, I enjoyed a fair amount of the soundtrack. I especially loved the Battle themes. Shame those weren’t a part of the release.
I think I’m a theme man. No theme, I fall asleep. I always found Fable so rich and evocative, and this is just a lot of meandering noise.
Oh well, glad somebody’s enjoying it. 🙂
The 2 tracks Danny Elfman worked on, was the theme and "Wraithmarsh". Personally I think it is common sense onto why they titled the theme song "Fable Theme" one being it could have been too repetitive to title the first song on the album "Fable 2 Theme". The other being, showing the sequel to Fable, not just a sequel but another story, a new beginning in Fable, keeping the name Fable solid, not having to put a number beside it to make sure everyone knows it is a sequel to a theme song, :s.
I admit, when I purchased this (for you all :P) I had tagged it in tiredness, at that time I couldn’t really do anything to keep me from being so caught up with me pillow and blankies..oh so soft, so they are all shown as composed by Danny, but I hope I cleared that up in this post and apologize for not being clear and perfect with this.
No it’s OK, not your fault really, when a guy looks at the cover (roughly) he would get the same impression, it’s they who did it wrong: putting Elfman first so people would buy this easier.
Cheers for the upload.
Much appreciated 🙂

The first theme was done by Danny elfman but not the sound track, that was Russlle somethingor other, and this soundtrack is all him, and rember that this game is set in the 16 centery rather than the middle age’s so the music is suppost to refect that and if you liked No1 the you love this one. And yes I’ve played way to much I’ve clocked it 3 times and just started on my fourth.
