The Dark Side of Game Music

Hey guys ! 😀

Here is my personal selection of my favourite dark pieces of Game Music.
It contains religious anthems, ambient music, dark tunes and a bit of experimental.
It took me a long time to select the good pieces and join them together, but I really enjoyed it. Through the years I discovered many incredible VGM albums, and this compilation may be my personal tribute to this kind of music, as I am writing reviews in a french magazine dedicated to the RPG (so if my English isn’t perfect, now you know why :p)

This is the first volume of my "Dark Side of Game Music".
I called it "The Sound of Heresy", due to its large amount of religious/mystic pieces.

9. Ra’s Underground Hideout [Alundra]
I’m always happy to hear Kohei Tanaka’s compositions.

Then yeah, I will consider making a second volume 😉

This one is based on sadness, pain, anger, and all of that stuff.
So overall, it’s a collection of soft, emotional pieces from a lot of games (not only RPG like the first one, even if there are a lot of them). I added "One Who Craves Souls" from Demon’s Souls at the very last moment, because I found this track absolutely stunning. One of the saddest I’ve ever heard, definitely.
