I was listening to the japanese Sonic CD soundtrack earlier today, and a sample used in the Quartz Quadrant bad future track felt extremely familiar. The sample itself sounds like a guy going "You going to get this place". It took me a while to pinpoint it, but the sample can also be heard on the track for Qwark’s HQ in the first Ratchet and Clank.

I’ve made this mp3 (http://www.4shared.com/file/63702974/568c000d/SCDRCComparrision.html) so you can hear the sample used in both songs (First bit is from Sonic CD, second bit is from Ratchet and Clank)

Anyone know where this sample is from?

That is an old sample used throughout the 90’s rave scene. Messiah, Moby and several others have used it in songs. Where the original sample comes from I don’t know.

About 23 seconds in.

You might have remembered it from a Ridge Racer song as those songs are definately in the old 90’s rave style.

Hopes this helps!
